Wednesday, Swiss Police raided a mosque and several houses in search of terrorists belonging to Islamic State. Around one hundred law enforcement officers were involved in the counter-terrorism operation carried out in the Italian-speaking region of Ticino. Police arrested two Islamists of Turkish origin, including a recruiter for Islamic State. So far, Switzerland has been spared terrorist attacks such as those carried out in France, Belgium and Germany, but the country has long been in the crosshairs of Jihadists. ISIS had previously released propaganda clips calling Switzerland part of the "coalition of devil" and threatening to carry out terrorist attacks inside the country.

I will never fully understand the irrational fear of inanimate objects that leads people to do things like this. A handful of instructors, mostly grad students, from the University of Texas are holding office hours in a bar after the state implemented campus carry laws. They're hoping gun-free zones will keep them safe. Under the Lone Star State's campus carry laws, only licensed concealed carry permit holders are legally allowed to pack heat on participating college campuses, and even then, only on certain parts of campus.

Joe Scarborough went on an epic rant this morning against liberal academia and the way it shuts down and ultimately radicalizes conservative students who grow frustrated with being stifled in the classroom. The segment began as an effort to explain Stephen Miller's personality, as Morning Joe cited a column by Andrew Sullivan in which he speaks of conservative students who are often "mocked, isolated, and anathematized on campus" and often react by adopting "brattish and obnoxious positions just to tick off their SJW peers and teachers."

Of all the free speech problems we have on college campuses, one of the most chilling ones comes in the form of "Bias Response Teams." Under such a policy, a student can be anonymously reported for saying or doing something deemed offensive, and then get visited by the bias response team. Adam Steinbaugh of the Washington Examiner wrote about this recently:
Hundreds of campuses encourage students to turn in fellow students for offensive speech Universities are the cradle of free speech, where ideologies and ideas clash, where academics and activists can agree, disagree, or be disagreeable. This is particularly true in the United States, where the First Amendment zealously guards against government surveillance and intrusion into free speech.

I don’t know whether Donald Trump or his aides had any improper contacts with Russian Intelligence officers. Neither do you, or the media. The Intelligence Community might know, but they have provided zero facts either officially or through leaks to prove any improper, much less illegal, conduct took place. Instead, we have trial by innuendo based on there being “contacts” between Trump campaign aides and Russian intelligence....

The Trump administration has notified the Supreme Court, in a pending case, that it is withdrawing the transgender bathroom mandate ordered by the Obama administration. The notice is here. Wisconsinites who enjoy Kellygold Irish butter have been forced to venture across state lines to buy the gold foil packaged dairy goodness. Butter protectionism in the Dairy State has made this foreign butter illegal. An obscure regulation turns "ungraded butter" into contraband. Since Kerrygold isn't produced in the good ole U.S. of A., it's not graded and hence, illegal. Selling illicit butter bears a fine up to $1,000 and a possible six-month stint in the slammer.

On Joy Reid’s MSNBC show this morning, Dem Rep. Maxine Waters doubled down on her earlier statement that “my greatest desire is to lead [President Trump] right into impeachment.”

Trump was chided for his remarks on the immigrant problems in Sweden. Just days after his comments, violent riots erupted in Stockholm's immigrant-filled suburbs, forcing law enforcement officers to open fire.

With less than 6 months to go until Germany's parliamentary election, Chancellor Angela Merkel's economic advisor has come out against her Refugee Policy. Merkel government should have shut the borders to migrants coming from safe countries, Merkel's senior economic advisor Professor Hans-Werner Sinn told German language magazine The European. According to Hans-Werner Sinn, Germany won't be able to sustain another wave of migrants, given its heavy economic cost. The migrants let in by Merkel between 2015-16 alone, were going to cost $400 billion to the taxpayers, he told the German magazine -- referring to an earlier study published by University of Freiburg Professor Bernd Raffelhüschen.

A Jewish cemetery near St. Louis saw over 100 gravestones overturned. The criticism of this act is deserved, regardless of whether it was the result of non-anti-Semitic hooliganism or an act of intended anti-Semitism. Either way, it is an act of religious intimidation. What is not deserved is the attempt to blame it on Trump, which is the suggestion of much media and social media attention, and Democratic Party spin.
