The left's new favorite Democratic Socialist, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, appeared at a town hall meeting in Queens on Friday night and compared fighting global warming to defeating the Nazis in World War II. It is becoming increasingly difficult to take her seriously as a person, let alone as a candidate.

Now that Brett Kavanaugh is on the Supreme Court, it's worth taking a look back at what changed the course of the fight. Democrats had thrown everything they had at Kavanaugh, including a misleadingly edited video circulated by Sen. Kamala Harris and false accusations of perjury circulated by many Democrats. None of it stuck, in part because of rapid fact response by the administration, Kavanaugh's team, and non-liberal media.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has been harassed and confronted by anti-Trump and anti-Kavanaugh protesters, including outside a restaurant, at the airport, and on the street after a Georgetown University event. This fits a pattern of attempts to intimidate Republican lawmakers and figures at the urging of Democrats such as Maxine Waters.

Earlier this week, James O'Keefe's Project Veritas revealed that Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) conceals her actual position on issues such as gun control in order to get elected. McCaskill is now demanding that state Attorney General Josh Hawley open an investigation into O'Keefe's investigative journalism, charging that Project Veritas engaged in "fraud" under Missouri's Merchandising Practices Act.

Legal Insurrection readers may recall that my son is participating in the Serra High Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC), and many kindly contributed to the annual fundraiser. The unit is now in the midst of the 2018 fundraiser, and I would like to ask for your support again. If you wish to contribute, please click HERE, and you will find the Vertical Rise site from which to make your much appreciated contribution.

The news that a group of feminist witches are planning to curse newly confirmed U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh are inspiring Catholics across the nation to spiritually support their fellow Catholic. During the vicious confirmation process (trial?), I added Kavanaugh and his family to my daily prayers. Today I sent out a Hallmark card saying "Congratulations" to the justice, mailing it to his Supreme Court office.
