House Republicans desperately want to reform taxes, but so far the only plan they have developed has gained no leverage. That's because border adjustment makes up a majority of the plan, which few, including top retailers, want anything to do with. The border adjustment is a tariff. It adds a tax on imports, which will inevitably raise prices on consumers. Common sense economics: A business must make a profit in order to supply goods and services. It cannot do that without money. In order to make money when a tax is added or raised, the business must raise the price on its goods in order to make that profit.

Congressional Black Caucus member Rep. Hakeem Jeffries has called presidential assistant Steve Bannon a "stone-cold racist." Jeffries offered that description during an interview with Katy Tur on her MSNBC show yesterday in explaining why it would be "hard" for him to attend a meeting between President Trump and the CBC if Bannon were present.

In late December 2016, a woman was brutally murdered in Washington State, shot to death with a note from the murderer attached to her body with a knife. Her name was Jill Sundberg.
Jill was born on Aug 4, 1985 in Quincy, WA to Greg and Janet (Zimbelman) Sundberg. Jill lived her entire life in Quincy, graduating from Quincy High School in 2004. After graduation, in addition to raising her family, she worked various jobs in Home Health Care and food services.

Fresh off a seventy-minute press conference where he leveraged national media coverage to berate and skewer the national press corps, President Trump kicked off the weekend with another shot at political media, only this time, he used Twitter. Trump tweeted that many "fake news" outlets were not his personal enemy, but instead an "enemy of the American people." Shortly after the initial tweet, Trump deleted it, leaving many to believe he'd reconsidered his inflammatory social media post. The original tweet:

It seems like a million years ago give the fast flow of news cycles, but you may recall that a lone unidentified Judge on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals called for a vote by the full court as to whether to hear en banc the government's emergency motion for a stay pending appeal. That motion had been denied by a three-judge panel, which refused even to narrow the sweeping District Court injunction against the immigration Executive Order. Since then, Trump has made clear that there will be a new Executive Order issued next week meant to address judicial rulings against the prior Executive Order. Apparently there also were similar representations to the Court in a supplemental brief:

Every year, President Obama filled out a NCAA bracket on ESPN. President Trump will not continue his predecessor's tradition.

For those who've been subjected to the MSM's cavalcade of criticism of President Trump's press conference of yesterday, some welcome relief from Ann Coulter's corner. On Sean Hannity's radio show yesterday, chatting with witty and insightful guest host Mark Simone, the inimitable Ann offered up these observations:
  • Trump's performance was "magnificent"—Ann could watch it "over and over again."
  • She notes Trump mentioning that CNN is not just all anti-Trump, but "there's so much hatred for me."
  • On courts ruling against exec order: it's as if the New York Times and Salon editors are "running the court system."
  • Ann wants Trump out there more: "a once a week press conference would be fantastic."
  • The left has three responses when they can't answer you. If they absolutely can't call you stupid, they call you crazy, ugly, or they just exclaim 'I can't even.'"
  • Mark Simone adds: "a racist is what a liberal calls you when they're losing the argument."

Remember Organizing for Action (OFA)? The grassroots army that made Senator Obama President Obama? OFA recently relaunched to protect Progressive values from the new Republican governance. Though it worked wonders for President Obama's political aspirations, top Democratic operatives claim it almost killed the Democratic party. “This is some GRADE A Bullshit right here," said Stephen Handwerk, Executive Director of the Louisiana Democratic Party.

The Senate has confirmed Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to lead the EPA with 52 yes votes and 46 no votes. Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) was the only Republican to vote no. Pruitt received two Democrat yes votes: Heidi Heitkamp from North Dakota and Joe Manchin from West Virginia.

A Florida man faces federal charges because he wanted to blow up Target stores along the east coast in an attempt to lower stock prices. I am not kidding. Federal authorities have charged Mark Charles Barnett, 48, "with possession or a possession of a destructive device affecting commerce by a previously convicted felon." The man he hired to put those bombs on the shelves turned him in.
