Texas police officer Michael Kelley has claimed prosecutors on the Sandra Bland case threatened his career if he brought forth evidence of wrongdoing. Kelley, from Prairie View, said he saw "marks on her forehead after a confrontation with state trooper Brian Encinia." The AP reported:
Kelley said he was never contacted by special prosecutors handling the case, and the Waller County district attorney's top assistant said there would be repercussions if he spoke to a Bland family attorney. Prosecutors have strongly denied Kelley's allegations.

At long last, our national political convention nightmare is over. Thanks to the magic of the internet, we're able to bring you the best moments from this year's Democratic National Convention, sound-free.

Hillary got a little bit too excited - Imgur

Turkish journalist Mahir Zeynalov spent this morning tweeting pictures and bios of some of the journalists detained by the Turkish government. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan seems to think they have connections to Fehtullah Gülen, who he blames for the coup, or at least that is the excuse for the round up. https://twitter.com/MahirZeynalov/status/759021471045980160

Rasmea Odeh is the Palestinian terrorist group member convicted of the 1969 supermarket bombing in Jerusalem that killed two Hebrew University students, Edward Joffe and Leon Kanner. Rasmea was released in a prisoner exchange in 1979 for an Israeli soldier captured in Lebanon. Rasmea eventually made her way to the U.S., where she lied on both her visa and naturalization applications, by falsely stating that she never was convicted of a crime or served time in prison. She told other lies as well, such as not disclosing the time she spent in Lebanon after release from Israeli prison, or that she was a military member of the terrorist Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. Adel Kermiche, one of the terrorists that slit the throat of Father Jacques Hamel in a small town in northern France, recorded his plans to attack a church on the Telegram app:
"You take a knife, you go to a church, you make a carnage," he said. "You slice two or three heads and it's good. It's over."
Another thing. A "spiritual guide" further radicalized Kermiche in prison in 2015.

Yesterday, the real story of Day #3 of the Democratic Party convention was the organized, outside demonstrations in which delegates and other progressives decried the #DNCLeak and Hillary Clinton's rigged nomination. As I suspected, Bernie Sanders' delegates did have something special planned for Day #4 and Clinton's formal acceptance address. And so did Democratic Party operatives, who worked hard to prevent protests, disruptions and distractions.

Of all the metaphors he might have picked to praise Hillary Clinton, Joe Scarborough chose the most unfortunate one: that of "brain surgeon." Because to many people, Hillary brings to mind none other than Nurse Ratched, that cold and domineering figure who subjected one of her charges who wouldn't fall in line to . . . a lobotomy. On today's Morning Joe, Scarborough actually said "why don't we try actually hiring a brain surgeon who's been operating on brains instead of chopping down trees for the past 30 years?" Scarborough put the words in the mouths of Hillary supporters he imagined, but was clearly expressing his own sentiment.

A new documentary first crossed our radar yesterday at College Insurrection. It's a short film about the state of free speech on college campuses which focuses on Brown University, where the filmmaker went to school. Despite the focus on Brown, the issues examined in the film are universal because this is a phenomenon happening all over the country. The social justice warrior left has figured out that they can advance their agenda much easier if they can get everyone else to shut up, so that's just what they're doing.

After a rocky first day, the Democratic Convention showed signs of the benefits of Hollywood backing. Hillary's acceptance night was slickly produced, and obviously geared towards "humanizing" Hillary. If humanizing Hillary was the goal, her acceptance speech was just the opposite. We saw fighting, angry Hillary tonight. That has to have been a strategic decision, with Katy Perry's Fight Song played repeatedly as Hillary took the stage. Nothing is left to chance or done off the cuff by the Clinton campaign. Surely, a focus group somewhere predicted that was the way to go.

For several years we have been covering the near elimination of due process rights for men accused of sexual misconduct on campuses. Universities, compelled by a directive from the Obama Department of Education under threat of loss of federal funding, have combined with toxic radical feminist "rape culture" warriors to create tribunals in which men are presumed guilty in what amount to Kangaroo courts for men on campus. These campus tribunals have turned our traditional notions of justice around. While we used to hold to a standard that better 10 gulity men go free than 1 innocent man be convicted, now it's Better 10 Innocent Men Suffer, Than 1 Guilty Man Escape.

What a shock. Judicial Watch discovered that top IRS officials, including Lois Lerner and Holly Paz, knew that the agency targeted conservative groups before they told Congress. Judicial Watch reported:
The FBI documents also reveal that IRS officials stated that the agency was targeting conservative groups because of their ideology and political affiliation in the summer of 2011. According to one senior tax law specialist, “The case seemed to be pulled because of the applicant’s political affiliation and screening is not supposed to occur that way … [Redacted] said he thought the cases were being pulled based upon political affiliations.” And IRS senior official Nancy Marks, appointed by [then-acting Commissioner Steven] Miller to conduct an internal investigation stated, “Cincinnati was categorizing cases based on name and ideology, not just activity.”

The burning of an Israeli flag outside the Democratic National Convention has received a fair amount of press. There's a bigger point here, one I have made many, many times before. The Leftist-Islamist coalition which hates and wants to destroy Israel also hates and wants to destroy the United States. Israel's fight is our fight, and vice versa. And by "our" fight I don't mean just conservatives or Republicans. We have common enemies -- the anarchists, radical leftists, and Islamists -- not because we chose to hate them, but because they chose to hate us. The video of the Israeli flag burning provides proof. As the Israeli flag is being burned, one of the leaders of the group is shouting "Death to the USA power" and someone else asked "where's the American flag":

The slow drip of hacked correspondence from Democratic National Convention higher ups continues. Wednesday night, Wikileaks published hacked voicemail recordings.

I watched the new documentary film "Clinton Cash" based on the book by Peter Schweizer this week and all I can say is the Clintons' corruption is worse than most people know. As a full time blogger, I watch cable news and monitor political news all day every day and even I didn't know the extent of the Clintons' influence and the way they've used it to enrich themselves and others. I think most members of the general public would be horrified by what's presented in this film.

A Paris-based publishing house has revised its decision to publish a French version of the German bestseller “Der Islamische Faschismus” (The Islamic Fascism). Written by German-Egyptian author Hamed Abdel-Samad, the book was due to hit the French bookstores in September. Piranha Edition reportedly changed its mind after this month's ISIS-inspired terror attack in Nice that killed 84 people and injured more than 300. If the objective of Islamist violence in Europe had been to force the continent into submission, it is well on its way to achieving them. Piranha Edition justified the decision of not going ahead with the publication by citing the threat of Radical Islam as well its desire of not wanting to strengthen the right-wing French groups critical of Islam. Interestingly, the head office of the Piranha Edition is just within a few minutes of walk from Bataclan, the theatre where 89 people were murdered by Islamic terrorists in November 2016.

When Kemberlee noted that President Obama, Vice President Biden, and the Democratic VP pick Tim Kaine were featured speakers at the Democratic Party's third convention night, I knew the evening would be a long one. Not surprisingly, Obama's address featured more fear-mongering about Donald Trump than it did his own policy successes. Far more interesting was the story taking place off the stage: #DNCProtests were erupting throughout the evening. #NeverHillary and #DemExit activists were streaming continuous videos of protests against Hillary Clinton's rigged nomination through the speeches. I must say, their efforts were far more interesting and informative.
