After Donald Trump accused Hillary Clinton of playing the "woman's card" (and she does), Hillary Clinton's campaign decided to fundraise off the accusations. The email read:
Donald Trump has been saying the “woman's card” is all Hillary has going for her -- I just loved Hillary’s response: “If fighting for women’s health care and paid family leave and equal pay is playing the ‘woman card,’ then deal me in.”

David Horowitz doesn't pull punches in defense of Israel and western civilization. Perhaps his most famous moment was when he got an anti-Israel student at UC-San Diego to admit she supports extermination of Jews (watch to the end): Horowitz's Freedom Center has been posting provocative posters at various campuses. In February the posters showed SJP as Hamas executioners, because so many SJP members express support for the bloody Intifadas and back "the resistance" (which is what Hamas means in Arabic).

Will Ferrell is slated to play President Ronald Reagan in an upcoming "comedy." According to The Wrap:
Set at the start of the ex-president’s second term when he was suffering from Alzheimer’s, “Reagan” follows the commander-in-chief as he succumbs to dementia and is convinced by an ambitious intern that he’s actually an actor playing the president in a movie.
As PJ Media's Stephen Kruiser points out, Reagan wasn't diagnosed with Alzheimer's until 1994, six years after he left the White House.

Unwinding after a day of regulatory analysis and political opining, I often read true crime novels. A compelling one I just started is In He Killed Them All by Fox News Channel host Jeanine Pirro. Pirro's book engagingly and brilliantly details her experiences trying to bring suspected murderer Robert Durst to justice for the deaths of his first wife Kathleen (Kathie) McCormack Durst, Morris Black, and his longtime friend Susan Berman. The title of the book stems from the dramatic conclusion of the popular 2015 HBO series that centered around these cases, The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst. During the last episode, after being confronted with some damning evidence in the form of letters, Durst headed to the bathroom to regain his composure.

The Vassar student body voted the past two days on two anti-Israel referenda sponsored by Students for Justice in Palestine and Jewish Voice for Peace. For background on anti-Israel and anti-Semitic activism at Vassar, see Tuesday's post, Vassar students start voting on anti-Israel referenda. The results were just announced by email, and both referenda were rejected. The vote was close.  The BDS resolution was rejected 573 Against, 503 For. The spending resolution was defeated 601 Against, 475 For. Under the circumstances, with a years-long anti-Israel propaganda campaign supported by vocal faculty members, this must be considered a huge victory for the voices of reason on campus.

Anti-Israel boycott campaign, the so-called BDS movement, and other anti-Israel groups are carrying out a coordinated campaign to hijack the May Day demonstrations in Germany with an aim of spreading their anti-Semitic and anti-Israel message. The blatant anti-Semitism and the hatred of Israel these groups propagates is getting so repugnant that it is unnerving even the old left-wingers who otherwise never missed a chance of criticising the Jewish State. The attempts by some moderate groups to keep anti-Israel agitators from taking over the Labour Day events have failed. A resolution tabled by a prominent left-wing activist Jutta Ditfurth seeking to expel openly anti-Semitic groups from the event was rejected overwhelmingly by the organising committee, forcing Ditfurth and her environmentalist group groups to leave the alliance.

John Boehner appeared at Stanford University last night. The appearance is making news. It's revealing not just because of Boehner's vitriolic personal attack on Ted Cruz, but more important, the revelation that Boeher is friends with Donald Trump and they golf and text regularly. So tell me again how the GOP establishment supports Cruz and how Trump will shake them up and burn them down. The Stanford Daily reports, John Boehner talks election, time in office:
Much of the discussion – and laughs – focused on Boehner’s views on the current presidential candidates. Segueing into the topic, Kennedy asked Boehner to be frank given that the event was not being broadcasted, and the former Speaker responded in kind. When specifically asked his opinions on Ted Cruz, Boehner made a face, drawing laughter from the crowd.

Austria is also in the midst of a presidential election and the subject of the migrant crisis is playing a significant role. The nation's conservative party is doing very well. BBC News reports:
Austria election: Far-right tops first round of presidential vote Austria's far-right Freedom Party candidate has come top in the first round of presidential elections, preliminary results show. Norbert Hofer has about 36% of the votes for the mostly ceremonial role - not enough to avoid a run-off in May. He is likely to face Alexander Van der Bellen, an independent contender backed by the Greens, who is polling 20%. For the first time since World War Two, the candidates from Austria's two main parties did not make it to the run-off.

Bernie Sanders campaign is trimming the fat. Just one day after the Democratic Socialist lost four out of five primary contests to Hillary Clinton, his campaign announced they'd be scaling back considerably. More than 200 staffers were let go Wednesday morning, a move the campaign calls "right-sizing."

If you're the guy (or gal) out there who keeps tempting fate by asking what could possibly make this GOP primary season worse, for the love of all that's holy, STAHP. I beg you. If you love George Washington you'll stop... Because the dumpster fire isn't burning bright enough, a federal judge scheduled the Trump University hearings for the first day of the GOP Convention. I can see it now...
"Where's Donald Trump? I thought he was supposed to speak at the convention tonight." "Oh him? Yeah, he's testifying to fraud allegations. Should be there soon though." "Cool." [Nervous laughter] ::looks up at bar TV:: ::sees breaking news coverage of Donald Trump driving a white Bronco, leading police in a high-speed chase:: "I'M STEALING BACK THE NOMINATION THAT WAS STOLEN FROM ME FIRST!11!!! It's MINE! MIIIINNNEE!!!!" Trump hollers from the window, hair piece blowing in the wind.

Florida might be a tax friendly state, but it's not very privacy friendly -- at least not for the kiddos. Orange County (home to Orlando) schools recently re-upped a partnership with SnapTrends, a software that monitors student social media activity. Karen Turner writes at the Washington Post:
SnapTrends collects data from public posts on students' social media accounts by scanning for keywords that signify cases of cyberbullying, suicide threats, or criminal activity. School security staff then comb through flagged posts and alert police when they see fit. Research suggests that 23 percent of children and teens have been cyberbullied. Studies connecting social media and suicide have not shown definitive results, but there has been research that suggests that cyberbullying leads to suicide ideation more than traditional bullying.

Earlier this week, the New York Daily News reported David Brock, Hillary fanboi and head of pro-Hillary Correct The Record Super PAC, has dropped around $1 million to pay trolls to attack Clinton naysayers. These so-called "Barrier Breakers" attack anyone who expresses unfavorable criticism of Hillary -- all online of course.
As head of the Correct The Record Super PAC for Hillary Clinton, David Brock has launched something called Barrier Breakers — an online mob of paid trolls designed to attack any and every person who says one cross word about Hillary Clinton on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, or elsewhere.

Ted Cruz has a major announcement at 4 p.m. today. We will turn a video feed live at that time. Reports are emerging that he will announce that Carly Fiorina will be his running mate:
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz will announce on Wednesday afternoon that former presidential rival Carly Fiorina has agreed to be his running mate should he win the GOP presidential nomination. Sources confirmed to WMUR political director Josh McElveen and political reporter John DiStaso that Fiorina, who has been a supporter of Cruz for several weeks, will be the focus of the announcement that Cruz intends to make in Indiana Wednesday afternoon.... Should Cruz survive Indiana, California’s primary is key on June 7. Fiorina is viewed as a potential asset to Cruz in California, where she won a U.S. Senate primary in 2010 before losing to Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer in the general election.

Last night was the night Mr. Donald J. Trump took a big step towards a first ballot win. As abhorrent at that result may be, there's no sense deluding ourselves. Trump still isn't there, however, and isn't yet on a trajectory to be there. But he's a lot closer as a result of small Republican electorates in northeast blue states which will vote Democrat in the general election. California will decide the fate of the Republican nomination process. Who could have predicted that? Perhaps recognizing what a Trump nomination means, RNC Chair Reince Priebus appealed last night for party unity.
