France's nationalist politician Marine Le Pen and Italy's Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini have announced plans to create a "Freedom Front" electoral coalition ahead of next year's European parliamentary vote. Speaking with Le Pen at a press conference on Monday, Salvini called for a "common sense revolution" to defeat EU's political elite in the May 2019 elections. "Europe's enemies are those cut off in the bunker of Brussels," Italy's League party leader Salvini told reporters. "The Junckers, the Moscovicis, who brought insecurity and fear to Europe and refuse to leave their armchairs."

Sheldon Whitehouse, the incumbent Rhode Island Democrat Senator, has been mocked nationally for his bizarre and intense interrogation of Brett Kavanaugh over high school yearbook entries Whitehouse suggested were sexual references. Kavanaugh pushed back, explaining that the term "boofing" meant flatulence, "ralphing" was vomiting, and "Devil's Triangle" was a drinking game. Whitehouse refused to accept Kavanaugh's testimony, even though high school classmates backed up Kavanaugh.

Hillary is doing everything you would expect her to do if she were preparing another presidential run in 2020. She and Bill just announced a national speaking tour, she attacked Kavanaugh, and she makes sure to keep herself in a news cycle just about every week.

Joel Kaplan, Facebook's vice president of public policy, sent the social media giant into a tizzy after he supported his friend Brett Kavanaugh at the Senate Judiciary Committee hearings. He apologized for the stir, but did not apologize for supporting his friend. In fact, Kaplan threw a party to celebrate the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

When reporting on the landmines removal from the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) between the two Koreas, I noted Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was on his way for a meeting with North Korean Chairman Kim Jong Un to discuss denuclearization of the peninsula. It appears the meeting was a success.
The U.S. and North Korea agreed Sunday to hold a second summit between leaders Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un "as soon as possible," according to a statement by South Korea's presidential office, with the American side saying that Kim had also invited inspectors to a key nuclear facility.

Former Army captain Jair Bolsonaro of the Social Liberal Party came out on top in the first round of presidential elections in Brazil over the weekend. However, he did not reach the needed 50% to avoid a runoff. Bolsanaro received 46% compared to former Sao Paulo Mayor Fernando Haddad's 29%. Yes, despite the large gap between the two men, they will have a runoff on October 28.
