Earlier this week, my colleague Mary Chastain reported that the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is pouring money into key districts in southern California. The Democrats are counting on taking seven seats in deep blue California to help get them to the 23 seats needed to win to take back the House of Representatives from the Republicans.  After a Democrat-majority House takes over in January, then it's time for impeachment of President Donald Trump.

Parkland activist David Hogg has carved out a special place in the hearts and minds of the uber-left and is thoroughly enjoying every minute, seeming at times drunk with the power he perceives he possesses. Hogg has no power on his own, of course, but he does have substantial power bestowed upon him by the targets of his destructive activism, power that Publix, at least, acknowledges as it suspends political donations in light of Hogg's anti-Second Amendment, anti-NRA "die-in" effort.

It seems that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un doesn't know what to make of President Trump.  Instead of caving to threats and insults from the Little Rocket Man, as Trump has branded North Korea's leader, Trump decided instead to cancel the proposed Singapore summit scheduled on June 12.   Following this announcement, North Korea blinked, stating that it did still want to meet with Trump. Now, reports indicate that North and South Korea held a "surprise" meeting to discuss salvaging the Singapore summit with Trump.

Rachel Dolezal, the white woman who turned the social justice world upside down by claiming she self-identifies as a black woman, has been slapped with felony theft charges in a welfare fraud case. Dolezal, who changed her name to Nkechi Diallo in 2016, was charged with welfare fraud, perjury, and false verification for public assistance.

Friday, Trump signed three executive orders tackling civil service reform. The bloated bureaucracy is fatally toxic, but any talk of civil service reform is always met with vitriol and apocalyptic prognostication.

The Michael Cohen court drama continues. We previously wrote about a motion for a protective order filed by attorney Peter Gleason seeking a protective order as to records seized from Michael Cohen that pertained to certain accusers against former NY Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, Court Filing: Trump and Michael Cohen were aware of Schneiderman alleged assaults in 2013.

Ken Vogel at The New York Times has revealed that #NeverTrump Republicans and Democrat operatives have sided with each other as a way to "neutralize" President Donald Trump. Vogel wrote:
In the past year, however, influential liberal donors and operatives have gone from cheering these so-called Never Trump Republicans to quietly working with — and even funding — them. Through invitation-only emails and private, off-the-record meetings, they have formed a loose network of cross-partisan alliances aimed at helping neutralize President Trump, and preventing others from capitalizing on weaknesses in the political system that they say he has exploited.

Scandal-ridden Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) has taken a tumble in polls, which means his re-election isn't such a sure thing. Menendez only has a four point lead over his Republican challenger Bob Hugin, a former pharmaceutical executive.
