Rick Santelli, the CNBC analyst whose glorious rant led to the creation of the Tea Party movement, created another memorable TV moment today. On Meet the Press, reacting to reports that the Russians were happy on Election Night because Trump won, Santelli said to Andre Mitchell: "on Election Night, I never saw you so unhappy. You pick sides. Everybody picks sides." An indignant Mitchell, protecting her [illusory] reputation for objectivity, shot back: "That's not true, Rick. That's just not true." Sure, Andrea.

We previously documented how the Palestinian terror tactic of car rammings had migrated to Europe in the form of truck rammings, which killed 84 people in Nice, France, and more recently, 12 people in Berlin, Germany. Now the truck rammings that killed so many in Nice and Berlin, have come to Israel. Four people have been killed when a Palestinian terrorist rammed a truck into a group of Israeli officer cadets on an educational tour waiting to board a bus in a parking area in Jerusalem. The driver drove the truck back and forth over the bodies. The attack comes as Palestinian leaders have ramped up incitement in advance of Donald Trump taking office, with threats and predictions of violence from the highest levels.

Following the news that Ford had cancelled its planned $1.6 billion auto assembly plant in Mexico, Mexican officials are concerned about the impact this will have on their economy. The Wall Street Journal reports:
Ford Motor Co.’s decision to cancel a planned $1.6 billion assembly plant in the Mexican industrial city of San Luis Potosí caught the nation’s elected officials off guard and represents a major blow to one of the main engines of Mexico’s economy.

No president in recent memory has been more embraced by America's celebrity class than Obama. Liberal Hollywood has celebrated with Obama at the White House countless times but this weekend they had one last hurrah. The Daily Mail reports:

Appearing on Joy Reid's MSNBC show, intelligence and national security commentator Malcolm Nance said this morning that Donald Trump is "pushing this nation to a constitutional crisis of unprecedented magnitude." Nance accused Trump of working "in the interest of a hostile nation and supporting, to a certain extent, a hostile intelligence service." Nance was reacting to Trump's reluctance to give a full-throated acceptance of the views of the US intelligence community regarding Russian hacking. Nance predicted that Trump will attempt a cover-up and will "gut" the intelligence agencies.

It couldn't happen to a nicer person. A Federal judge has ruled that Baltimore State Attorney Marilyn Mosby may be civilly sued for malicious prosecution by the police officers she targeted following the in-custody death of Freddie Gray, reports the Baltimore Sun. Gray's demise was followed by days of rioting, looting, and arson in the City of Baltimore.  While the riots were ongoing Prosecutor Mosby announced a wide array of charges against six Baltimore officers involved in Gray's arrest, including charges as serious as murder, based largely on the flimsiest of evidence or no evidence whatever. The horrific series of crimes against a mentally disabled teenager and streamed live on Facebook has shocked and horrified many (but not all, apparently).   The four attackers who tortured and abused the teen appeared in court and were denied bail. The Chicago Tribune reports:
One day after a chilling live Facebook video made headlines, four suspects appeared in a packed Cook County courtroom Friday to face hate crime charges alleging they beat and tortured a mentally disabled teen in an attack that once again put the city's ugly violence problem on display.

Mary wrote yesterday about the shooting at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood international airport that killed five and wounded eight others.  Details are now being released about the shooter, Esteban Santiago, and it appears that he had a history of mental health problems and was under psychiatric care. The Broward County Sheriff's office has posted the following about the incident:
A lone gunman, Esteban Santiago, 26 (DOB 3/16/90), opened fire in the baggage claim area, killing five people and wounding eight others.

Eric Holthaus is a meteorologist who writes at Slate.com. Rolling Stone calls him the "Rebel Nerd of Meteorology":
Last fall, meteorologist Eric Holthaus was waiting for a plane in San Francisco when he made a life-changing decision. He'd just finished pitching Silicon Valley on an app that would bring quality forecasts to underdeveloped countries suffering from climate change-related storms. Investors were less than enthused. "These are the people controlling the world's forward-thinking economy, and they don't get we have to take drastic action on climate change," he says. So Holthaus made a bold stance to forever reduce his own carbon emissions: The flight home to Wisconsin would be the last time he'd ever get on a plane.
