Trump Derangement Syndrome Tag

No one knows hypocrisy more than the left. The latest example appeared in a photoshoot with "comedian" Kathy Griffin by photographer Tyler Shields, which has her holding the bloody severed head of President Donald Trump. According to TMZ, Griffin told Shields that the two of them may have "to move to Mexico once the pics got released, for fear they'd be thrown in prison."

James Taranto's late, lamented Wall Street Journal column had a running tongue-in-cheek rubric, "We Blame George W. Bush," in which the former president was blamed for everything under the sun, despite his utter lack of connection to it. In that spirit, Taranto might have had a field day with a panel discussion on CNN this morning, in which the participants did their best to blame President Trump for an incident in Montana in which the Republican congressional candidate has been accused of manhandling a reporter. Co-host Alisyn Camerota got the ball rolling by asking whether there is "some sort of larger story or message we should take away here . . . growing aggression against the press."

There was a time during the first quarter of 2017, when the "Anne Frank Center (US)" aka Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect, was all over the news for the bashing and thrashing its Executive Director, Steven Goldstein, gave Donald Trump. A time limited Google Search reveals dozens of articles in which Goldstein was quoted as an authority on anti-Semitism and bashing Trump. Here is a small sample:

The anti-Trump fervor we've been documenting is not limited to college campuses, the mainstream media, and well-organized and -funded leftist organizations.  The unhinged hatred for our president most recently manifested at California's Democratic Party Convention where its chairman, John Burton, raised his middle finger and lead a chant of “F*%! Donald Trump." The Sacramento Bee reports:
The anti-Trump fervor at California’s Democratic Party convention this weekend can be summarized in choice words from outgoing chair of the California Democratic Party, John Burton: “F*%! Donald Trump.”

The MSM is hating President Trump's foreign trip. Why? Because it takes the spotlight off what they'd much rather be covering: the investigations back home into Russian involvement in the election. Yesterday, we witnessed a CNN host fretting that President Trump's successful speech in Saudi Arabia might be "normalizing" him. Now it's Mika Brzezinski's turn to insist that she won't let Morning Joe be distracted by the foreign trip. On today's show, when HuffPo's Sam Stein said that despite the investigations, people are "going about our business," Mika jumped on him.

Bob Schieffer is an old-school newsman. There's no doubt that the former Face the Nation host leans left, but he is still capable of reporting, you know, the news. That is too much for denizens of the modern MSM to tolerate. On today's Reliable Sources on CNN, Schieffer reported the glaringly obvious truth: that President Trump gave a good speech in Saudi Arabia today. Guest host John Berman had to push back: "you know, Bob, though, that there will be people who look at that last comment you made and say you're normalizing the president." Schieffer gave the perfect response: he wasn't trying to normalize Trump, he was trying to do what reporters [are supposed to] do: report.

As we've been discussing a lot lately, the media is in the middle of an attempt to bring down the Trump presidency. Call it a coup, a slow-motion coup, or whatever you want. False stories and conspiracy theories are invented and rolled out daily based almost entirely on anonymous sources for the obvious purpose of freezing the administration, enabling corrupting leaks from the bureaucracy, and making it impossible to govern.

The NAACP has determined that its current path is too tame and that the group needs to be far more activist in its resistance to the President. To that end, it is firing its president and working on a “systemwide refresh," inspired apparently by the Black Lives Movement. The New York Times reports:

Mr. Sessions’s order to federal prosecutors to pursue the toughest charges and sentences against drug crime suspects crystallized the decision to press for change at the N.A.A.C.P. The order reversed efforts by the Obama administration to ease penalties for some nonviolent drug offenses and was a 180-degree pivot even for the Republican Party, which had warmed to changes in the criminal justice system.

On Joy Reid's show this morning, MSNBC terrorism analyst Malcolm Nance said that if the United States "were some third-world nation right now, we'd be watching the army to see if the tanks are getting ready to move for a coup. Or if a guy jumps on a plane and flies to Monaco with all the money from the state." Sounds like a "helpful" suggestion/wishful thinking from MSNBC. Nance, by the way, is the person who nominated a Trump property for an ISIS suicide attack. To date, there's no evidence online that he has apologized or been disciplined by MSNBC.

I have used the "C" word with regard to the attempts to keep Donald Trump from the presidency. Once, I believe, in a post on December 12, 2016, about the attempt to undermine the Electoral College, The one thing you must understand about the unfolding media-Democrat Electoral College coup attempt:
We are witnessing nothing short of an attempt to steal the election by some Democrats and a very supportive mainstream and leftwing media, by causing Electors in the Electoral College to go rogue and vote for Hillary, or at least not vote for Trump.
The excuse then, as now, was Russian interference in the election process:

By now, every Legal Insurrection reader will likely have been exposed to a deluge of media related to the Washington Post's assertions about President Donald Trump disclosing highly classified information in his meeting with Russian Foreign Minister and Ambassador. However, the intense media focus on the White House has meant substantially less ink, electrons and time have been spent covering two, significant class action lawsuits against the Democratic National Committee: 1) It's shenanigans during the primary to weigh the nomination in Hillary Clinton's favor. 2) Failure to pay its campaign workers for overtime. I was registered as a Democrat for a significant portion of the primary season, and voted for Bernie Sanders in the California primary. So, I thought I would spend a little time on each of these cases.

The Impeach Trump Now organization, an effort begun on Inauguration Day, has added a new feather to its cap: former Massachusetts' Supreme Court Justice Justice Fernande (Nan) R.V. Duffly. She will serve, they state in their announcement, on their legal advisory board.
The Campaign to Impeach Donald Trump Now, a growing national movement for an impeachment investigation of President Trump, announced today that Justice Fernande (Nan) R.V. Duffly, who retired last summer from the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, has joined its Legal Advisory Board. The campaign, launched on Inauguration Day and led by two public interest organizations, Free Speech For People and RootsAction.org, is calling on Congress to start this investigation based on the President’s direct and ongoing violations of the two anti-corruption provisions of the US Constitution and based on the President’s apparent interference with a criminal investigation by his improper attempts to influence, and his ultimate firing of, FBI Director James Comey.

Failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has emerged from the woods to join this resistance against President Donald Trump with a political action group. Yes, you can resist the Trump presidency if you send Hillary more money! Because she's totally not going to run again, right? This is totally not supposed to keep her relevant and in the spotlight, right?! This is ONLY to help others resist Trump! Uh huh...

Earlier this month, Joe Scarborough compared President Trump to his own mother, "who has had dementia for ten years." Joe was back on his Trump-is-crazy beat on today's Morning Joe. After Mika cited a Washington Post article quoting an anonymous source who wondered whether President Trump "is in the grip of some kind of paranoid delusion," Joe weighed in, saying he's heard reports all weekend that "the president is running around, screaming at television sets. He's increasingly isolated." Joe then upped the ante, adding that there are "reports at his club that he's going off, detached. Almost detached from reality."

The "impeach Trump" movement started on inauguration day, if not before.  From unserious partisans like Maxine Waters pledging her waking hours to ensuring that the president be impeached to the mainstream media chiming in with articles from the Washington Post and the New York Times. Indeed, the tempo has increased this week with the following articles being published across the mainstream press and the regressive blogosphere between May 8 and May 14:
