Much to the chagrin of the leftist feminist contingent, the mayor of South Bend, Indiana is making quite a splash in the Democrat media with his 2020 presidential bid.  Affectionately dubbed "Mayor Pete," Pete Buttigieg has enjoyed fawning, gushing press for the past week or so. Not so fast, though, because not every leftie is on board with Buttigieg's 2020 aspirations.  We know this because he was recently accused of saying, back in 2015, that all lives matter.

Legal Insurrection readers are acutely aware of the deplatforming and silencing of conservative voices across social media and via outlets like Amazon. The latest victim to get slammed by the iron-hand of Big Tech is President Trump’s chief social media guru, Dan Scavino. Facebook blocked his account for simply responding to a question from a reader.

Once upon a time, stories of polar bears starving to death were regular features of environmental and science "reporting." The fuzzy fur-balls of ferocity were the beloved icons for the crusade against global warming. However, they have been seemingly absent from recent "climate change" discussions.  Could this be due to rapidly increasing number of polar bears, a fact which counters all the doom-and-gloom assertions made by supposed experts?

Seattle is in the midst of a crisis. Tent camps have become a common sight, along with homeless people, many of whom suffer from drug addiction, mental illness or both. We recently ran a post about the frustration of police officers in Seattle and how some of them are even resigning because they feel like they're not being allowed to do their jobs. A special program from KOMO News called "Seattle is Dying" examined these and other issues. The city's leadership doesn't seem to be doing anything about it and quite a few residents have had it.

Media Matters has a mission. It exists for the purpose of removing conservative voices from the airwaves. They're the same people who targeted Rush Limbaugh in 2012, and have been targeting Fox News for over a decade, as Professor Jacobson wrote in 2011, Media Matters Plans “Guerrilla Warfare and Sabotage” on Fox News And Conservative Websites.

If you had asked me a week before the Oscars ceremony who was likely to walk away with the Best Picture award for 2018 film releases, I would've given you two answers: Black Panther or Blackkklansman. In the age of #OscarsSoWhite, where progressive politics rule over Hollywood like the Eye of Sauron, it seemed a safe bet to put money on the films that embrace that which the social justice left deems most valuable. Thus came the surprise when, of all the films that talked about racial issues in 2018, the Best Picture Winner of 2019 turned out to be Green Book, a smaller film produced by a white director that the progressive left largely disregarded as retro.

Billionaire and former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz has stirred up Democrat wrath by contemplating an independent 2020 run for president.  They and their #NeverTrump allies are ten kinds of not happy. Apparently, the left's latest attempts to dissuade Schultz from doing so will include tactics they've used repeatedly against Republicans: angry mobs confronting him anywhere and everywhere.

For once, something from anonymous sources came true! California Democrat Senator Kamala Harris has officially thrown her hat into the 2020 presidential race. She made the announcement on Good Morning America.
