Germany is heading into a recession, a report released by Chancellor Angela Merkel's office said. The economists working at the Chancellor's office see Germany technically in a recession given the country's negative growth in two successive quarters, the German weekly Der Spiegel reported. Europe's largest economy is expected to contract between July and September, as it did in the second quarter.

Here at LI, we covered the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation extensively, including the wild and ultimately debunked accusations against Justice Kavanaugh. The media frenzy was as disgusting as it was illuminating.  The leftstream media fully embraced its role as partisan social justice warriors and worked hard to derail Kavanaugh's confirmation despite the ludicrous nature of the unsubstantiated claims against him.

The argument for Joe Biden's candidacy for president is coming into focus. His mind is adequate. He's 76 years young. You have nothing to worry about, America. Really.

The New York Times published a piece on President Donald Trump's response to the two deadly shootings with the title TRUMP URGES UNITY VS. RACISM. The newspaper used the correct headline because that's exactly what Trump said in his speech. However, it went against the leftist narrative's to push gun control even though they demanded Trump condemn white supremacy. The left and Democratic candidates blasted The New York Times, which changed the headline to appease them.

President Trump is yet again being called a "racist" by the leftstream media, Democrats, and some Republicans.  It all started when Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) gained the president's attention with comments about our Southern border and border agents. Trump responded, quite reasonably it seemed to me, that Cummings should look at his own district, of which Baltimore is part.

Election security is no joke, and it should not be politicized and used as a weapon against political opponents.  And yet.  House Democrats on Thursday sent two "election security" bills to the Senate that they knew Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) would not take up and then screamed that McConnell doesn't care about election security.

My initial reaction to Robert Mueller's congressional appearance was one of pity. He was a pathetic character on the stage, seemingly bewildered at times, mentally frail, and vulnerable as a witness. What a way to end a career and to be remembered by friend and foe alike.

NBC News released a hit piece on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (KY) on Monday about slave owners in his family history since he stands against reparations. This is not journalism. This is not reporting. NBC News can legitimize (sort of) if the network investigates every senator's family. Something tells me the reporters will not take that action because they will find information about President Barack Obama and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA).

During the crowded Democrat presidential debate, preference was given first to Elizabeth Warren, who bombed her big opportunity and so shifted to Kamala Harris. Less popular candidates were given substantially less air time and were frequently iced out (see Delaney) and all but completely ignored. Both Andrew Yang and Marianne Williamson claim their mics were shut off unless they were called on, unlike other candidates whose mics were on throughout the entire debate.

On Saturday, independent journalist and Quillette editor Andy Ngo was brutally attacked by an antifa-fascist mob in Portland, Oregon.  Since then, reaction has been mixed, with leftists actually expressing delight over Ngo being assaulted in broad daylight on a crowded city street and conservatives expressing outrage and demanding that people be held accountable.
