As Daniel Halper has reported, the Iwo Jima Memorial joins the list of monuments needlessly barricaded by the Obama administration, but that did not stop a group of veterans from removing the barricades to visit today.

I’m not overly enamored of the complaint that Obama will negotiate with the Iranians, Syrians and Russians, but not with Republicans.

The complaint sounds a little whiny.

But it does prove a point. A point that I made long ago about how Obama treats the Israelis and other friends of the U.S., like ...

The barrycades at the WWII Memorial and Lincoln Memorial have received most of the attention.

But on Friday a group of Vets decided to storm the barrycades erected by the Obama administration at the Vietnam Memorial, as reported by the local NBC News station (via The Patriot Perspective):

Like the hundreds of World War...

Obama’s trek for a lunchtime photo op struck me as trying too hard.

Contriving to make like he doesn’t have a worry in the world and is in the catbird’s seat tells me he knows his position is just the opposite.

So does the cancellation of h...

A comment by Chuck Schumer yesterday over Senate Democrats’ refusal to pass House funding bills for the NIH’s clinical trials for children with cancer, and similar House bills for veterans and national parks, pretty much sums up how Democrats’ seething hatred of the Tea Party movement has clouded Democrats’ thinking and ability to...

I guess this is no surprise.

The rising anger of Obama, Harry Reid and other Democrats has made it impossible even to come to agreement on funding NIH clinical trials for children with cancer.

Even though the children with cancer turned away were a major Democratic talking point until...

It appears that Obama and the Democrats will leave the WWII Memorial in its natural open status, and drop the barrycades, after the negative publicity.

That said, the Senate is likely to kill the House funding bill passed yesterday to reopen various Parks Service monuments along with the Smithsonian and Holocaust Museum. ...

Tuesday night Mandy wrote a post, WWII Vets storm Barry-cades, regarding the absurdity of the Obama administration erecting barricades in open spaces for no reason other than to hassle Veterans at the World War II Memorial.

The term Barry-cade, and its acceptable variant Barrycade, became hits on Twitter (here and here).

In addition to the real shutdowns at the WWII Memorial and elsewhere, we can expect to see all sorts of non-shutdowns blamed on the federal government partial shutdown.

I noticed this along a path in the Collegetown section of Ithaca, a path along the Gorge next to the Schwartz Theater.  That path...
