Politifact, the site that pretends to be a non-biased, non-partisan fact checker, really stepped in it Thursday. In an attempt to bolster credibility, Politifact brought on a Republican and a Democrat to "critique" their work and "improve the trust and credibility." They selected former Florida Congressman Alan Grayson to be their Democrat representative.

Thursday, the Penn Board of Trustees along with the university's president published a letter to the Penn Community announcing their decision to revoke the honorary degree previously awarded to Steve Wynn, a former Penn Trustee and College alumnus. The university will also remove Wynn's name from Wynn Commons as well as a scholarship fund he created. The decision was unanimous. Wynn resigned from his post as RNC Finance Chair after allegations of sexual harassment.

This is unfortunate, but completely understandable news. South Carolina Representative Trey Gowdy announced Tuesday he will not seek re-election but will return home to employ his skills in the justice system.

While the national media was losing their minds over the Alabama GOP's nomination of failed candidate Roy Moore, a Democrat Senate seat in New Jersey has received little attention. Democrat Senator Bob Menendez is in the middle of his second trial (the first a mistrial), facing corruption charges. We've covered the long, sordid history of allegations, indictments, and trials here.

Sunday's Grammy Awards proved once again that the American entertainment industry is increasingly disconnected from the people they're meant to entertain. As part of the show, artists read excerpts from Michael Wolff's 'Fire and Fury', an anti-Trump book. 'Fire and Fury', a problematic work (the veracity of which Wolff himself is unsure) blew up the news cycle prior to its release several weeks ago.

Sorry, Democrats, but as it stands now, Oprah says she's not interested in relocating to D.C. Oprah's rousing speech at this year's Golden Globe Awards had the entire internet abuzz (mainly Democrats) with the hope the talk show hostess might challenge Trump in 2020. A Draft Oprah group was created, and pollsters and pundits took the wish-casting seriously.

Politico reported Thursday afternoon that the White House offered an immigration plan to Congress. The White House plan satisfies Democrat Dreamer demands in exchange for a $25 billion fund to construct and secure the southern border, as well as a plan to curtail chain migration.

The Golden State seems hellbent on regulating itself into oblivion. Their eco-madness has led them to seriously consider legislation that would fine and or imprison waiters for offering restaurant patrons disposable plastic straws unless one is requested. I'm sure you'll be shocked to learn the legislation was presented by a Democrat. And this isn't some fringe issue either. The plastic straw ban was introduced and is championed by Ian Calderon, Assembly Majority Floor Leader.

Democrats have spent years trying to "Raise the Wage" for workers in entry-level and part-time jobs, to no avail. Their approach was all wrong. Though they successfully installed minimum wage hikes in blue locals, the exact population they sought to help experienced layoffs, hour cuts, and even store closures as a result of the mandated wage increases (we've cataloged this ongoing story extensively). Thanks to recent changes in tax laws, Starbucks employees will finally get the wage bumps Democrats have spent years trying to deliver.

Florida is one of three states who require convicted felons to obtain clemency before their voting rights are restored. Now, voters will decide if a change to the more than hundred-year-old law ought to be made. Thanks to the legwork of advocacy group, Floridians for Fair Democracy, surpassed the 766,000 signatures needed to put the put the measure on the November ballot.

The Democrats have a huge problem on their hands as Dreamers, now young adults who've been promised the immigration world, are demanding Democrats make good on their promises. Schumer's failure to negotiate any meaningful DACA codification into the spending bill has Dreamers incensed and they're taking action.
