Despite her claims to the contrary, Elizabeth Warren certainly seems to be laying the groundwork for a presidential run. But, if her constituents are a bellwether, Warren's time on the national stage could be short-lived.

Monday, the White House announced Trump's order for "immediate declassification" of the FISA application in the matter of Carter Page, a former Trump campaign advisor, which includes 20 pages of documents. Additionally, and the best part, Trump ordered public release "without redaction" of texts messages pertaining to the Russia investigation from James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, and Bruce Ohr.

You can always count on Rep. Maxine Waters to give away the plans to destroy Trump's presidency and administration. The latest of which occurred Friday and included a suggestion to "knock off" Trump, which was greeted with applause and cheers. The National Newspaper Publishers Association gave Waters a National Leadership Award and Waters used her platform to trash Trump.

Senate Democrats have redefined "absurdity" since the confirmation hearings for Judge Kavanaugh began ten days ago. With every single antic squashed and mocked, Sen. Feinstein released a super secret letter to the FBI, a letter alleging that 30 some odd years ago, Kavanaugh sexually assaulted a woman.

The Texas Senate race between Senator Cruz and Rep. Beto O'Rourke has gotten a little too close for comfort (if the polling data is anywhere near accurate, which we've explored over the last few months here on the blog). Cruz and O'Rourke had been in discussions for five debates.

After Trump was elected, there was an entire movement to abolish the Electoral College for no other reason than Trump won and Hillary did not, popular vote, yada yada yada. Thank the good Lord we are not a pure democracy. The Electoral College was designed to protect the country from populist uprisings and democratic mob rule. Simply because historically, democracies tend to disintegrate into chaos before destroying themselves.

Naomi Osaka made history by becoming the first Japanese born woman to win the US Open. But the headlines following the event are hardly focusing on Osaka. Instead, the discussion has largely focused on Serena Williams who suffered a "sexist" umpire. It's pathetic, really.

Friday, former Trump Campaign Adviser George Papadopoulos was sentenced to 14 days in jail. The sentence is out of the norm for such offenses, but the judge wanted to make an example of Papadopoulos. Papadopoulos was sentenced to two weeks behind bars for, "for lying to the F.B.I. about his contacts with Russian intermediaries before the 2016 election, with the judge saying he wanted to send a message to the public about the consequences of impeding an inquiry of national import," reports The New York Times.

The only thing worse than pulling a poorly planned and horribly executed political stunt is doubling down on your failure when everyone knows you've failed. Sen. Cory Booker should know. Thursday, Sen. Booker claimed he was intentionally breaking Senate Committee rules by improperly releasing confidential documents, leading to thorough, justified, and humiliating smackdown by Sen. John Cornyn. Later, it was revealed the documents Booker released had already been cleared, that Booker knew they'd been cleared but pretended he had gone rogue nonetheless.
