From November 2008: To live in Ithaca is to live in a city alive with anti-Bush, anti-war protest.  I often joke that the directions to my house in Ithaca  read as follows:  Take a right at the fifth Obama sign, a left at the third "Impeach...

Both of these movies were released on July 13 of this year. A few months ago, I wrote about how at first glance, "The Obama Effect" appeared to be some kind of parody video. Sadly (for Obama supporters), it was a very real, but fruitless, attempt...

An American Ambassador and three American security guards were butchered, anti-American riots broke out across the Middle East, a U.S. Embassy both before and after being stormed issued apologies for the exercise of our constitutional rights, our Secretary of State practically prostrated herself, the President had...

My wife went to an extremely liberal high school, and for whatever her reason, is Facebook friends with many classmates who now are certified members of the Obama cult of personality. It is a never ending source of amazement how deeply these people, now in their...

UPDATE - No new submissions being accepted for now, the response was so overwhelming that there's already a huge backlog. Today is the impromptu National Empty Chair Day, which I covered on Saturday night when a reader alerted me to the idea.  At the time there were about a half dozen tweets from @YouTooCongress, but little other attention. Through the efforts of Prof. Glenn Reynolds, Michael Patrick Leahy of Breitbart.com, Michelle Malkin, Twitchy, and many others in the right blogosphere, National Empty Chair Day has spread far and wide in about 24 hours. A.F. Branco has created a logo (feel free to use):

The Twitter hastag is #EmptyChairDay.  A Facebook page Eastwooding Obama (added, also National Empty Chair Day) has been set up. Reader submissions are encouraged, and will be posted in our sole discretion.  Only photos taken by readers themselves which have not already been published elsewhere (except the reader's own blog) will be posted here.  No Photoshops. (If we get any campus photos, they'll be posted over at College Insurrection.) Please include name and town/state (only first name will be published with photo) by email via the contact page.  (note added)  If you do not include name and town/state the photo will not be run. Here's the one that started it all, from Sandy Daze from Virginia Beach, VA: People did not wait for today, and started sending photos yesterday.  (Boston radio host Michael Graham already had reserved a empty seat for Elizabeth Warren on Friday!) From commenter VonBeck2, who writes from flooded Louisiana:
"My dad lives in Laplace, LA. He experienced flooding during the recent hurricane that passed through this area. This is the first time that his home has flooded. This is significant because his house didn't flood during Hurricane Katrina.... So all of that money spent has the effect of just flooding somebody else. Here's my contribution to the empty chair meme. This was taken today as I went to check on him. The water has receded some but it is still to high to restore electricity to his neighborhood, which. is a big deal in the deep south. So I was thinking where is Obama. Not in Laplace, La. I wonder if he is having fun campaigning while the suburbs drown."
From Darren, who writes "Couldn't wait for tomorrow....": From Jeanne in Fort Worth, TX, who writes "Count me in for Monday's 'Empty Chair Day' campaign. However, I'm so keen that I'm starting on Sunday! My sign says "Make My Day! Fire Obama On November 6th." Wouldn't it be great to see an entire neighborhood with empty chairs in front of every home?" From Matt in Topanga, CA: From Maria in Gladstone, NJ, who writes: "Here is my empty chair photo. It's (almost) as broken as our economy! Love your website, keep up the good work!" From Rob in Owasso, OK:

Mark Levin (transcript via RCP): MARK LEVIN: He says he was basically in a drug-induced stupor for the last two years of high school and I've asked many times, 'Well how did he get into Occidental? How did he transfer to Columbia? And how did he...

The hostess and others looked at me with such smiles as I snapped several photos. We all shared the pride, or so they thought. I looked just like they did. They thought I was one of them. But little did they know. Taken at Tacolicious, San Francisco: ...

This is a GUEST POST from friend of the blog SGLawrence, who is vacationing in upstate New York this summer: I was driving on Route 209 through Ellenville, New York in the Catskills on Saturday, June 23, 2012, when I noticed a gentleman sitting all alone in...

A number of readers have sent me links or images of a Father's Day promotion Obama is running to scoop up e-mail addresses for fundraising. Here's an image sent by reader Bronwyn as it appeared at Real Clear Politics: Reader John saw a simlar ad at The NY...

Consider this the opening of a time capsule from a gentler, kinder, more delusional era, when love of composite Obama swept the land. In my post Sunday, It made you happy, but it was that bad, I asked readers for suggestions for the best worst Obama-adoring...

What the hell were we thinking? By "we" I don't mean me or most of the readers here. By "we" I mean the nation, which fell in love with composite Obama. So now she's not feeling the love no more. (Daily Caller via Instapundit.) Amber Lee Ettinger, widely known...

Remember that Indelible Image of a Boy's Pat on Obama's Head? You know, the one that was so indelible that no one remembered it, and the NY Times felt compelled to remind you how indelible it was with a headline "Indelible Image of Boy's Pat on...

I have few original thoughts on the fake twins who cannot bear the unbearable burden of bearing fairly boring genealogy and upbringing in middle and upper middle class Amerika. I feel your feign, man and woman. So here is your faking fakers and the fakery they fake Reader (you can attribute any...

Not a mother for a child (or vice versa). Or a husband for a wife (or vice versa) Or a patriot for country. No, the truest form of love is when a Senior Editor of The New Republic pens a guest column in The NY Times about young Obama,...

Which do you think is better, the original Obama Celebrity ad run by the McCain campaign in 2008, or the new one from American Crossroads which was just released? First, the original: Here's how the NY Times Editorial Board characterized the McCain ad: The ad gave us an uneasy...

One of my favorite photos, run on the blog a number of times in the past. Something about it just seems to sum up the mania which swept the nation in 2008. Now that Obama is in full-out pander mode to the youth (as he sells out...
