It made you happy, but it was that bad

It made you happy, but it was that bad

What the hell were we thinking?

By “we” I don’t mean me or most of the readers here.

By “we” I mean the nation, which fell in love with composite Obama.

So now she’s not feeling the love no more. (Daily Caller via Instapundit.)

Amber Lee Ettinger, widely known as “Obama Girl” during the 2008 presidential campaign, told The Daily Caller she is “not as excited as I was the last time, that’s for sure.”

The model-actress became a nationally known celebrity after starring in the viral YouTube video “Crush on Obama.”

“Barack Obama was definitely the first ‘Internet President,’” she said, describing her experiences during the last cycle as “quite a roller coaster ride.”

This time, however, Ettinger won’t say if she still supports Obama.

“At this point I’m keeping that to myself,” she told TheDC. “If I’m not making videos, I’m not sure it’s anyone’s business who I’m voting for this time around.”

No, you are not excused, fool.

Request:  I want to run a reader poll of the best of the worst Obama-adoring videos.  This one will be on the list along with the Obama children singing video.  Any other suggestions?  Post in comments.

Ew. That was just creepy. Never saw it before.

      “The stupid…it burns…!!!”

I’m seeing vids I either successfully avoided or managed to blot from my memory!

I’m going to have to go out and chainsaw some trees and shoot something.

      It is THAT bad…

Tamminator in reply to Ragspierre. | June 10, 2012 at 12:16 pm

heh heh. I just put some eye drops in to wash away the images.
I bet most of the “kids” in that video didn’t even graduate from high school.
Gotta keep your voters stupid in order for them to drink the socialist kool-aid.

The “Best” of the “Worst” sounds like a sausage joke and perhaps it is and we’re the ones who were being ground up! Yet, there’s redemption if we vote for Romney on November 6th!

OBTW: apropos of perhaps nothing, the 1860 election was also held on November 6, 1860, yet that too was a momentous election.

Oh! What about the crazed loons who actually prayed to Obama? http://youtu.be/bq3npnzMNaY

Just watched the kid vid you included, creepy indeed. But we can’t possibly leave out the ever-popular Obama as Jesus “mmm mmm mmm” song. http://youtu.be/9Ty7WU872Lk

That is my favorite piece of Great Leader propaganda. When someone says his full name, I mentally add the “MMM MMM MMM” just as Rush does.

TrooperJohnSmith in reply to Fuzzy. | June 10, 2012 at 7:28 pm

YES!! This one. This video smacks of North Korea!

In fact when I or anyone around me says his whole name, I always follow with, “mmmm mmmm mmmm”. I notice others doing it, too.

Ragspierre in reply to Fuzzy. | June 10, 2012 at 11:36 am

    “Everybody in, nobody out”

    Had not seen that one!

“Totalitarian”, as used by Mussolini, was supposed to be beneficent. The State was going to include everybody in its largess. The costs, well…there’s the rub.

I am not ‘We.’

I have no part in ‘We.’

I literally raised the Don’t Tread On Me flag in a blog post at CNN’s iReport in spring of 2008 way before anyone dreamed of the now famous Tea Party. I am sure my opponents there wince as they remember what I told them in blog post after blog post back then that this charlatan was a socialist who was bent on destruction.

They enabled Obama which enabled the Tea Party which has been laying political waste to the progressives in ways they never dreamed possible.

And we are just getting started…

I felt the same way about him. I just couldn’t understand how others couldn’t see through him. And everytime someone said that he was a great speaker, I was ready to scream!

Ragspierre in reply to Rosalie. | June 10, 2012 at 11:44 am

He told us who he was.

All one had to do was listen to him, and read what he’d written.

The Alinsky head-fake was ALWAYS part of his speeches; contradictions in essentially every paragraph. But anyone who paid attention knew.

ALman in reply to Ragspierre. | June 10, 2012 at 12:59 pm

“He told us who he was.”

Indeed, he did. Although there were sufficient numbers who understood what he and his team were about, they were too ill-prepared for the onslaught.

One of the reasons Obama and his team were able to mount such a campaign was that they were very good at listening to what various ideological groups were saying. They listened, and acted. What they were not equipped to do was to work with the near-majority that he ran against. They were and are lacking in substance.

“Fluff” is fine for pillows and it can even enable a man to the highest office in the land. However, it’s not much good for retaining anything substanial.

Maybe, this time around, we’ll cut through his manufactured image, as well as what was created by the MSM, and put an end to this day dream that has become “our national nightmare.”

JackRussellTerrierist in reply to Rosalie. | June 10, 2012 at 4:36 pm

I’ve never been able to reconcile the vast stupidity of the obastard voter with the incredible accomplishments of Americans, our astonishing innovations and inventions, and the American drive for achievement and success. It will never add up in my mind.

Tamminator in reply to VotingFemale. | June 10, 2012 at 11:55 am

The tea party is alive and well and taking out democrats and RINOS one district at a time.
I’ve got 2 tea party meetings this week alone.
    The silent majority in action.

Sorry folks but this is it ….not so much for what is said but who says it and where he says it

Last night during MSNBC’s Potomac Primary coverage, Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann were discussing Barack Obama’s speech. Matthews — who, in the past, has both cried over an Obama speech and compared him to Jesus — described exactly what happens to him when Obama speaks:

I have to tell you, you know, it’s part of reporting this case, this election, the feeling most people get when they hear Barack Obama’s speech. My, I felt this thrill going up my leg. I mean, I don’t have that too often.

Watch:

No, no, no, you’re ALL WRONG. The best of the worst or, or, the WORST OF THE BEST was definitely the Will.I.AM video. It was hideous. I still have nightmares of Hollywood zombies chasing me down to lick my face and force me to vote for Obama. Seriously. I’m shuddering just thinking about it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghSJsEVf0pU

This video feels so dated. I guess that’s the thing about knowing how to “do pop culture” which Republicans don’t. In the next election all Obama’s pop culture triumphs are coming back to haunt him.
OT — Thank you for making me blog of the day. It means a lot to me.

That’s the one that creeped me out. I posted it on my little personal blog with a caption that said something like, “This is so wrong on so many counts” and a “friend” left an anonymous note calling me a racist. I knew we were in for hard times.

ecosse in reply to VotingFemale. | June 10, 2012 at 2:06 pm

yeah creepy stuff. hilter youth anyone?

OMG! I never saw this before, but I will be gagging for the rest of the day.

What the hell were we thinking? By “we” I don’t mean me or most of the readers here. By “we” I mean the nation, which fell in love with composite Obama.

Regardless of what we were (mis-)thinking about Obama, we were thinking that McCain is crazy.

McCain & Palin had actually achieved a small lead, but his behavior became glaringly erratic when the financial crisis broke. We now know that Obama manages to look composed and competent when he is clueless, but we didn’t know that at the time.

That McCain is a RINO was understood, but his unstable personality had been inadequately vetted.

Afterthought. I’m all for the video contest because mockery works better against the Left than anger does. They call us bitter clingers when we display anger, but they cannot stand being mocked.

No video comes to mind, so I’ll mention that classic of San Francisco spirituality, Is Obama an Enlightened Being?.

Let us chant the Lighworker Mantra together: CHOOOOMMM…

I don’t even like rap, but here is a rapper doing an anti-Obama video and I liked it! Sorry, Professor. I don’t think I can watch any of the old pro-Obama videos. Makes my head hurt.

She’ll forever be “the Obama useful idiot.”

That torso is a flaccid tub of goo

I’d forgotten about that Hollyweird kids video.

Talk about poor production values!

“Diversity,” it turns out, is simply a code word for narcissism.

The higher the pedestal the longer the fall, the harder the landing when bottom is hit.

Obama reached the pinnacle of his Progressive pedestal built on a foundation of deceit and hidden socialist and racial agendas.

Large scale public mockage of Progressives and their ‘heroes’ is the most intense pain one can inflict on them… that is, until the pain they feel losing battles like the Wisconsin Recall, and the House of Representatives in 2010, and all the state and local elections that have fallen into conservative hands.

The Progressives are frightened out of their mother loving wits about the 2012 elections and I for one savor their fear.

Their political circular firing squads and finger pointing are delicious.

I feel no mercy or pity for them.

After watching all that , i need to go worm a donkey. . . Has anyone else noticed that the man has taken over govt. Public Service Announcments for his own ends?

I have one you probably have never heard. It’s reggae from Kenya. Obama for the world!

Prepare your heart to fill with hope…

Prepare your mind to embrace the change…

Envision Barack victorious on election night…

This is right up there with the “mmm mmm mmm” song. The use of a beautiful Christian song makes this disturbing. In hindsight, the contradiction between the song and imagery is nearly obscene. It’s like showing the executions of the Einsatzgruppen in Russia and Poland while ‘Up With People’ is providing the audio.

    Awful….

Best commentary and in some ways explanation I have seen of the Obama phenomenon is this video put to Cake’s “Building a Religion” which came out before he even got the nomination. There have been multiple attempts on YouTube to get it suppressed.

Poor Amber is experiencing post-electoral disgust.

There’s always a morning after, Amber.

I am not sure she is doing this for publicity. But that only makes your question more important. How could this have happened?

Easy: Remember that scene in Independence Day when Judd Hirsch asks “You don’t think they really spend thousands of dollars on a toilet seat or a hammer, do you?” Well, there is a method in the madness when the Dems control our schools and educate our kids. Bill Ayers did not give up being a revolutionary, he just moved from bomb throwing to getting his hooks into education. A dumb electorate is an easily manipulated electorate.

Sorry if it’s been posted and I missed it but this one must rank high:

Now … the bromances, too? Yesterday, at NN:

“We went from having a crush to feeling crushed.”

—Van Jones

Two or so years ago, I saw this video with references to Obama’s failures interspersed between the lyrics on the video. I am not sure where I saw it, but it was great. “How ya like me now?” by The Heavy.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVzvRsl4rEM

Nothing, but nothing, trumps the Obama children singing video. Ever. Can’t be done. In the 16th year of Obama the Obama children singing video will be played on a loop inside of cells to punish dissidents before we are executed.

Obama is going to pay for my gas and mortgage has to be one of the earliest, most viewed, viral and shocking.

What’s keeping Warren and Pelosi from making a “Bimbos for ‘Bama” flick?

JackRussellTerrierist in reply to Sally Paradise. | June 10, 2012 at 4:50 pm

Barbara Boxer hasn’t signed on yet, that’s why. But she will as soon as she finishes her latest spending spree with our money.

This poll is unfair…

-when you spread the thumbs up around it’s good for everybody.

Cowboy Curtis | June 10, 2012 at 3:05 pm

For sheer stupidity and fawning, the “Obama’s gonna pay my mortgage!” clip simply cannot be beaten. Look it up on youtube. It would take 40 pages- Professor, you’d have to blog for a month- to fully describe all of the awful things it sums up. Imagine the rough, independent men who founded this nation, crossed the Appalachians, and settled a howling wilderness, seeking nothing but freedom and what the sweat of their own labor could provide- now imagine their polar opposite.

2,000 years from now, when archeologists are sifting through the dirt of what used to be America, they will come across a copy of that video and stand in awe. “This,” they’ll say, solemnly and with great regard, “this is when it all started to fall apart.”

LukeHandCool | June 10, 2012 at 3:08 pm

I just had a few minutes and watched Amber and the kids video.

I don’t remember the “Obama Girl” video being that horrifyingly awful … I guess it was wiped from my memory bank.

I thought I had seen the kids video, but I must have seen a different one.

Scary. Nauseating. Can’t blame the kids. The adults are the freaks.

Such religious fervor for a guy who had a completely undistinguished career up until that point. Such gullible fools.

LukeHandCool | June 10, 2012 at 3:15 pm

Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh!!!

I just remembered this one.

For sheer “Gag Me with a Spoon!” creepiness … nothing beats “The Pledge.”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XwG5MhVGQ6k

Hey, didn’t Ashton and Demi pledge to stay together?

LukeHandCool in reply to LukeHandCool. | June 10, 2012 at 3:57 pm

Didn’t mean to sound like Joe E. Ross.

Well, actually, his “Oh! Oh!” flashed in my mind when I thought of “The Pledge.”

How about the Young Jeezy (sometimes with Jay Z, sometimes with Nas – there are a lot of versions) song “My President Is Black” ?

BannedbytheGuardian | June 10, 2012 at 9:03 pm

Iirc Obama Girl did not vote in the actual election . Just the good vibes she got was enough for her & the media.

It reminds me of Jon Stewart listing the international test results of young Americans (poor ) but noting that they led the world in the self esteem category.

Gotta love that.

If we had more real conservatives in this country, he would not have gotten elected. There is indeed a big portion of our country who regardless of age, spend their free time engaged in juvenile, immature activities like watching reality shows and trying to be a friend to their kids instead of being a parent like they should be. The country has been dumbed down and now Republicans have done it again by nominating another RINO like Bush.
