The internet went crazy this morning after a report surfaced that Boston's CNN channel aired 30 minutes of hardcore porn. Media took off with it, but I have to admit that the details appeared sketchy because how does a major cable provider like RCN unknowingly air 30 seconds let alone 30 MINUTES of hardcore porn? Looks like they didn't:
"We are in the process of researching this incident but see no evidence our CNN network feed was compromised last evening in Boston," Jeff Carlson, svp and general manager, RCN Boston, said in a statement to THR.
The account @solikearose has protected her tweets, but she shared pictures of her TV to BuzzFeed News to prove that she did not fake this story. Turns out a glitch may have caused it.

The New York Times public editor Liz Spayd's op-ed contains a lot of harsh truths and realities for those who write for one of the world's most famous newspapers: drop the bias. Her office has received "five times the normal level" of complaints "and the pace has only just recently tapered off." Spayd does not flat out say that, but she portrays it in her eloquent article:
But I hope any chest thumping about the impressive subscriber bump won’t obscure a hard-eyed look at coverage. Because from my conversations with readers, and from the emails that have come into my office, I can tell you there is a searing level of dissatisfaction out there with many aspects of the coverage.

Dennis Prager's YouTube video series known as Prager University, has enjoyed wide success and for good reasons. In each video, a noted academic, media personality, or other well known person, addresses a particular issue in a practical and straightforward way, usually in five minutes or less. There is nothing controversial about the videos, certainly nothing that requires an age rating for viewing so it's very strange that YouTube would restrict them in any way. The College Fix reports:

Right, Donny. Because who could ever come up with an argument against Hillary Clinton, possibly the most corrupt, scandal-ridden, jaded candidate in the history of presidential politics? On today's Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough, to his credit, fulminated against anti-Trump MSM reporters who are supposed to write stories down the middle but are instead "openly cheering for Hillary Clinton." That's when Donny Deutsch defended media bias, saying that reporters have a "conscience" and that "sometimes there's no other side to an argument."

We'll admit it up front: there's not much redeeming social value in the story we're about to present you. Let's just call this political entertainment of the pugilistic sort between two people who clearly have little use for each other. Over the course of a longish segment on today's With All Due Respect, Trump surrogate Boris Epshteyn and Gary Johnson backer Liz Mair engaged in a running battle. The barbs came fast and furious, with, among other things: Mair—playing the sexism card—ripping Epshteyn for interrupting her; Boris noting Mair's fascination with the word "butt" and taunting her over not having a job this election cycle; and Mair suggesting that Boris had trouble keeping up with the news. At the end, when John Heilemann facetiously observed that it had been a real "lovefest," Mair retorted "I don't do the loving, I do the hating."

Mika is Woman: hear her roar! Mika Brzezinski had a suggestion for Donald Trump on today's Morning Joe. After Hillary, in the debate, "cleaned his clock" and "wiped the floor" with him, Mika suggested that Trump might want to "bow down" in acknowledgement of the strength of women. Mika was still furious after an opening segment in which she and the other panelists trashed Trump for having, among other things, "weight shamed" a former Miss Universe. Admitted Mika "just to be shallow, I have to say given all his comments about women . . . I'm really glad that a woman cleaned his clock. I'm really glad that she wiped the floor with him. I love it. I love it."

On Saturday night, a pressure bomb exploded in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, leaving 29 people injured. Despite that pesky fact, MSNBC's Chris Hayes is thankful it was a BOMB, not a gun. https://twitter.com/chrislhayes/status/777895206846955520 I wonder if he would say that to those injured by the bomb. Anyway, the people of Twitter had a field day.
