Wildfires and blackouts continue to plague California. Among the most serious of these blazes is the Getty Fire, which broke out close to the famed museum and has forced the evacuation of thousands.
The Getty fire broke out shortly after 1:30 a.m. along the 405 Freeway near the Getty Center and spread to the south and west, rapidly burning more than 600 acres and sending people fleeing from their homes in the dark. About 10,000 structures have been placed under mandatory evacuation orders.

California regularly experiences Santa Ana conditions that can spread wildfires. Major wildfires have occurred since 2003 that have ravaged various regions of the state causing significant loss of life, property, and resources. Despite the science behind the fires, state politicians still promote the climate crisis agenda and not moving toward meaningful solutions.

California Governor Gavin Newsom recently said (with a straight face) that "California was still the envy of the world" in response to the numerous California critics who brought up the homeless problem, feces and syringes in the streets, and rodents infecting people in city halls. While Newsom drags his feet, some cities have chosen to tackle those problems, mainly helping the homeless.

We have followed the public health crisis is Los Angeles closely, as the homeless population explosion has led to conditions ripe for an outbreak of the disease typhus. The area's NBC4 Investigative Team has also covered the story, and assert that the city wastes tens of millions of dollars per year in clean-up efforts because LA's homeless encampments quickly repopulate once cleaning ends.

Earlier this year, we reported that the US Department of Transportation (DOT) cancelled millions in grants for the high speed rail project that California Governor Gavin Newsom has substantially scaled back. Newsom has tried fighting this move, arguing that California needed these funds to complete a more limited-scale project than the Los Angeles to San Francisco route originally planned. However, the Trump administration did not buy the argument, so it has officially ended the Obama-era agreement.

Given that California's Governor Gavin Newsom is a leading member of the #Resistance, nobody will be surprised that he called President Donald Trump's idea of relocating illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities and state "asinine".
