The 'Trump War Room' operation of the Trump campaign was ready with an attack ad on the pick of Kamala Harris, branding her as "phony." This branding, as I pointed out with regard to Trump branding people, only works if there is some truth to it and it resonates with the public perception.

During the 2008 presidential election, a journalist-only list serve called 'Journolist' was exposed. In this online environment, left-leaning journalists were discussing the formation of narratives which supported Democrats and damaged Republicans. A new study has found that little has changed since then, and it seems Twitter is the new Journolist.

In a nation filled with petty government tyrants and bullies empowered by coronavirus panic, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer stands out as possibly the most petty and most tyranical of the bunch. Whitmer has shown such a unique combination of fanatical self-righteousness and psychopathic vindictiveness that most people wrote off her vice-presidential prospects.

When it comes to Joe Biden's eventual running mate, Kamala Harris has drawn the most speculation from pundits, but former Obama national security adviser Susan Rice is a very real possibility. With two former members of the Obama administration on the ticket, this would definitely be like a third term for Obama.

The Great Debate is whether Joe Biden will debate Donald Trump in the series of three debates currently suggested. While insisting that Biden "looks forward" to debating, you can see the seeds of an excuse being planted, centered around Trump allegedly abusing the debate process AND the coronavirus making travel and appearances risky to health.

It's like 2016 all over again in almost every.single.way. but also with riots and a global pandemic (thanks, China). Over the weekend, April Ryan, a political analyst for CNN suggested that if Biden wins, America would be watching a split screen in which Trump would be dragged out of the White House over his refusal to leave.

So maybe as early as next week Joe Biden will announce who he is picking to be his vice presidential nominee. Or more precisely, the vice president nominee will be picked, Biden will be informed, will come to believe he made the choice, and will appear in front of a camera with a note written in large crayon with the person's name.
