Elizabeth Warren and her Republican challenger Geoff Diehl met for their first debate on Friday night. Warren's DNA test came up right away, as she tried to spin it into an example of transparency. She also did her best to tie Diehl to Trump, but the most notable jab came from Diehl who hammered Warren's presidential aspirations.

The Democrats need to hold all their seats and win 23 seats in order to have control of the House of Representatives. It looks like they're going to lose a seat in Minnesota's 8th District, which is a heavy Democrat district. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) decided to pull $1 million in funding to support Democrat candidate Joe Radinovich since his Republican opponent Pete Stauber has a 15 point lead!

Earlier this week, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) outlined the Democrat agenda if the party retakes the House next month. The Democrats need to hold all of their seats and win 23 more in order to take over. Pelosi spoke about the plan to Paul Krugman and said, “If there’s some collateral damage, for some others that don’t share our view, well so be it.”

When will the rhetoric quiet down? Apparently not soon enough since the Minnesota Democratic Party suspended a communications staffer due to a joke he made about beheading Republicans. That joke comes days after two Republican candidates for the state government reported assaults against them during this week. One of them suffered a concussion.

A few months ago, Democrats had a commanding lead in a number of polls and talks of a Blue Wave had the GOP rattled. But a lot has happened these few months. A series of missteps, unforced errors, and flat out embarrassments and three weeks before the midterm elections, polls are skewing red.

Democrats are counting on their identity-based coalition to carry them over the finish line this fall but they could be facing a shortfall. According to more than one recent report, Latino voters are not as fired up to vote for them as the left needs them to be.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has been on a roll. Together Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley, McConnell has sheparded through Democrat obstruction a total as of today of 84 Trump judicial nominees, including 15 last week in addition to Brett Kavanaugh. Included in that group are two Supreme Court justices, Gorsuch and Kavanaugh, and 29 Courts of Appeals judges.

As we move ever closer to the 2018 midterms, all eyes are fixed on House and Senate races.  The need for President Trump to maintain, even expand, the number of seats in both Houses of Congress cannot be overstated, so it's heartening to see Republican candidate for Senate John James surging in Michigan. James, a combat veteran and businessman, describes himself as a "conservative Republican" and is seeing a surge not only in support via polling but in donations as money is flowing into his campaign.  While James is still a bit of a long-shot against incumbent Democrat Senator Debbie Stabenow who has held that seat since 2000, the recent surge opens the possibility of a stunning—and very welcome—upset.

Arizona Democrat Senate candidate Kyrsten Sinema has been in the news a lot lately as comments she made at left-wing forums have resurfaced. Among the comments was that Arizona was the "crazy" state, and the "meth lab of democracy." She also said she didn't care if a constituent went and fought for the Taliban, and that it was inappropriate to criticize anarchist property destruction. It seems that new controversies regarding Sinema's radical past arise daily.

Midterm elections are only a few weeks away so we're watching the polls closer each day. I found that polls for the Senate races in Missouri, Arizona, North Dakota, and Tennessee have the Republican candidates in the lead. Democrat incumbent Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill is only down a point, but Arizona Republican Rep. Martha McSally slightly raised her lead as she tries to take over retiring Sen. Jeff Flake's seat.

Superstar Taylor Swift has always remained silent on politics...until now. On her Instagram account, Swift took the opportunity to slam Tennessee Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn, who is running for the senate, and endorse Tennessee Democrats. She wrote that "several events" in her life "and in the world in the past two years" changed her mind and explains why she can't support Blackburn:
Running for Senate in the state of Tennessee is a woman named Marsha Blackburn. As much as I have in the past and would like to continue voting for women in office, I cannot support Marsha Blackburn. Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me.

Out of all the horror and vileness of the Democrats' all-out war on Justice Brett Kavanaugh, there comes a most welcome surprise:  Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC).  The man has been on fire all week, and he is not close to stopping. Following are Graham's five most awesome moments in defense of Kavanaugh.
