After the recent Supreme Court decision ruling that the Commerce Department had not given a sufficient explanation for a Census citizenship question, there still was a possibility that the Trump administration could pursue a new explanation. After all, the question itself was held substantively lawful, it was the process that was the problem. After last week's presidential primary debate, Joe Biden was widely seen as the loser after a bruising back and forth with Sen. Kamala Harris (CA) over his recent comments on working with segregationist senators and his past opinions on forced busing. She wants to defeat Trump, she intoned, with love. She also said that her first move if elected will be to call the Prime Minister of New Zealand to tell her America is going to be the best place to raise children. I kid you not.

The photo of Óscar Martinez and his daughter, who drowned trying to reach the United States shook the world. Many have blamed President Donald Trump and American policies, but El Salvador President Nayib Bukele, elected in February, took the blame. From the BBC:
"People don't flee their homes because they want to, people flee their homes because they feel they have to," he told the BBC in the capital, San Salvador.
