Jair Bolsonaro, known as the "Trump of Brazil," has won the presidency in the runoff against former Sao Paulo Mayor Fernando Haddad with 55.1% of the vote. The ex-army captain has portrayed himself as an outsider, even though he spent 27 years in Congress.

We definitely live in interesting times. Not too long ago, HuffPo was churning out articles defending violence as a "logical response to Trump" and publishing op-eds about how Trump supporters "deserve to die more than I do" and insisting that Trump and all of his enablers should be executed for treason (the latter post even HuffPo recognized as over-the-line and pulled).

Victims Identified in Pittsburgh Synagogue Massacre

Yesterday, we covered the horrific mass shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, PA. We have learned new information, including the victims' names and the state and federal charges filed against the shooter. The shooter reportedly entered the synagogue and then opened fire while allegedly shouting, “All Jews must die.” He slaughtered 11 people and wounded at least six others, four of whom are police officers responding to the scene.

The long-running animated comedy series 'The Simpsons' is preparing to drop the character Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, the Indian-American owner of the 'Kwik-E-Mart' due to political correctness. This became an issue when comedian Hari Kondabolu made a documentary film called "The Problem With Apu" which was released last year.

Last weekend, I covered the latest caravan of illegal immigrants careening toward our southern border, and on Friday, Mary blogged about President Trump considering executive action to narrow requirements for asylum-seekers. Now we are learning that thousands of illegal immigrants currently making their way through Mexico have been offered refugee status by the Mexican government. Refugee status in Mexico would make the illegal aliens eligible for medical care, schooling, shelter, and jobs. The offer was rejected.
