The NY Times has a story today that is making waves, concerning the cooperation of White House counsel Donald McGahn with Robert Mueller and his team, with the permission of Trump. If true, it reflects an incredible naïveté on the part of Trump, and incompetence on the part of his first set of lawyers, as to how to deal with the Mueller investigation.

We're all working hard to understand the very special SJW language of the regressive left.  Apparently, this special language makes "jokes" out of racism against white people because privilege, and we just don't get the funny.  We aren't sufficiently "woke" to see that we are a blight on the planet. The regressive left has encountered an entirely new beast now: a black female democrat racially slurring an Asian female democrat.  The mind boggles.  We can almost hear them scrambling to make sense of this in their bizarre SJW-land where intersectionality is the rule of the day and racism is the purview of those "fascist" white supremacists.

I have been watching events on the Korean Peninsula since the conclusion of the Singapore Summit between President Donald Trump and North Korea's Kim Jong Un, trying to determine what the eventual outcome of that meeting would be. I have come to the conclusion that the two Koreas are like the children in a messy divorce, and are tired of being pawns in a larger political drama between the two "parents". In part, that assessment comes from statements from South Korean officials that they want the U.S. and China to declare a formal end to the Korean War.

Only a few months ago, "comedian" Michelle Wolf gave a cringe-worthy performance at the annual White House Correspondents' dinner.  During that disastrous bit, Wolf crossed several lines of decency, particularly in her personal attacks on White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.  So onerous were her remarks that even leftists commended Sanders for her dignified behavior during Wolf's onslaught. That was in April, news broke yesterday that Netflix has cancelled Wolf's show after only ten episodes.  Apparently, many of those associated with the show found out about it on Twitter.

Ben Shapiro has taken his show on a live tour. This week, he performed in Dallas before a huge and appreciative crowd. During one segment of the show, he addressed a letter which was recently sent to the New York Times which clouded the line between parody and reality.

This week’s Case of the Week is inspired by the so-called “documentary,” Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story, produced by Jay Z and Trayvon Martin’s parents. The first two episodes focus enormous attention on the fact that George Zimmerman was not arrested until April 11, 2012, 44 days after he shot and killed Trayvon Martin on February 26.

The jury in the Paul Manafort trial has ended deliberations for the day without a verdict. This comes after jury questions yesterday, including asking the judge to clarify the meaning of "reasonable doubt." As mentioned in yesterday's post, Paul Manafort is being prosecuted because of who he knows. I hope he walks, the judge's guidance probably didn't clarify anything:

Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a candidate for the House from New York, loves the media and the media loves her right back. After her primary win over Democrat incumbent Rep. Joe Crowley, she's traveled all around the country and never had a problem with the cameras. That is until Ocasio-Cortez returned to the district she may represent in the House. Her campaign banned the press from stops on a tour throughout the district.

I googled "Kavanaugh Poll" this morning and came across articles declaring that polls show Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh has low support from women & the public overall and is one of the most unpopular picks in a decade. These articles came out about 19 hours ago yet a Quinnipiac University Poll from August 15 showed Kavanaugh gaining public support, mainly with independents and women almost evenly split.
