Karen Monahan, the woman accusing Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) of abuse, sat down with CBS News to describe the incidents for the first time on camera:
"He looked at me, goes 'Hey you f***ing hear me … and then he looked at me, he goes 'Bitch, get the f*** out of my house,' and he started to try to drag me off the bed," Monahan said. "That's when I put my camera on to video him."

A nightmarish scene unfolded at New Haven Green this week, a park located near Yale University. Throughout the course of the day on Thursday, emergency officials responded to dozens of cases of drug overdoses. A synthetic form of marijuana is believed to be the cause. The actual number of people afflicted has varied among sources.

The jury ended its first day of deliberations in the prosecution of Paul Manafort in the Eastern District of Virginia. When this trial is over, Manafort faces a second trial on other charges in federal court in D.C. The jury asked the judge for help understanding "reasonable doubt." As is usual in these situations, the judge didn't give much help, explaining that reasonable doubt was "doubt based on reason" but did not require "guilt beyond all possible doubt."

The United States has imposed sanctions on Chinese and Russian companies for violating the trade restrictions on North Korea. The move highlights President Donald Trump's strategy to keep tightening the screws on Pyongyang over its nuclear program. The Treasury Department blacklisted a Russian port agency and two Chinese firms on Wednesday for aiding North Korea's shipping industry.

The Cook Political Report has moved three House GOP seats to Toss Up from Lean Republican after new polling came out. Another race slipped a little, moving to Lean Republican from Likely Republican. While it may not seem like a big deal, we know the Democrats want the House back and any momentum the Republicans lose, you know the Democrats will jump on the opportunity.

No, Governor Cuomo. Just...no. At an event Wednesday, New York Governor Cuomo attempted to mock Trump's "Make America Great Again" campaign slogan. Cuomo led by saying, "We're not going to make America great again. It was never that great."
