Despite the knowledge that a growing number of Americans deem the media untrustworthy and consider much of what is reported as #FakeNews, the leftist and mainstream media just can't seem to help themselves. They are whipping themselves into a frenzy over an NRA flier and further exploiting the Parkland shooting in their attempt to create a sense of what they feverishly—and falsely—claim is the NRA's hypocrisy.

Michelle Wolf's performance at last night's White House Correspondents' Dinner (WHCD) has created quite a stir. President Trump, for the second year in a row, held a rally rather than attend. Wolf, apparently a correspondent on the Late Show with that new guy, blasted President Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, and White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, as well as making some pointed remarks about the state of today's journalism. Some of her comments, however, are seen as crossing a line, particularly points about Sanders.

Facebook's use of user data has been plastered across headlines for the last several weeks. A story about a company called Cambridge Analytica precipitated what became a massive snowball. In early stories, Cambridge Analytica (a data firm used by some candidates in both domestic and international elections), was accused of hacking the 2016 election by stealing user data.

Please see Update at bottom of post - The Canary Mission Twitter account has been restored -------------------------------- Canary Mission is an anonymous group that monitors and reports on anti-Semitism and anti-Israel extremism by publishing the actual statements and social media postings of activists. Canary Mission has been under attack, and there have been multiple attempts to deplatform it, because is exposes the anti-Semitic, pro-terror rantings of the anti-Israel movement, particularly on campuses. After what appears to be a coordinated campaign to report Canary Mission's Twitter account to Twitter for abuse, the Twitter account of Canary Mission has been suspended.

The weekend, I discussed that Trump Derangement Syndrome had affected the America media so badly that it distorted its space-time continuum. It appears fewer people want to travel to #Planet Resistance, which led the #FakeNews makers purchased fake Twitter followers to promote their alternative reality.
Big media outlets have embraced Twitter as a distribution platform but still struggle with how reporters and editors use the social media service, particularly when they appear to be breaching journalism ethics.

Forget UFO's!  On Friday night, SpaceX launched a satellite that lit the evening sky over Southern California, dazzling and amazing spectators in California and Arizona.
SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket, launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base at 5:27 p.m., was carrying 10 satellites to low-Earth orbit. The satellites will be part of a constellation operated by Iridium Communications. All 10 satellites successfully deployed, with the last one deploying about 1 hour and 12 minutes after liftoff.

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough cause a Twitter storm when he posted a misleading tweet about Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT).  Scarborough misrepresented Hatch's comments about entitlements generally as being specifically about CHIP, a program created back in 1997 when Hatch co-sponsored the legislation with then-Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA). Scarborough has since taken down the tweet, but here is a screen cap of it:

Wednesday, the Senate Judiciary Committee conducted confirmation hearings for several judicial appointees including Texas Supreme Court Justice Don Willett. Willett has been nominated for a spot on the fifth circuit. An avid Twitter user, Willett is a bright, humorous spot on the social media platform. Prior to the hearing, many a politic-watcher wondered if Willett's Twitter feed would be questioned. And it was.
