The #Resistance isn't content with its "impeach Trump" efforts, its Russia investigation, its marches, boycotts, and pussy hats.  Some of them are targeting President Trump's business efforts as a means of political retribution. The latest of these efforts took place in Washington DC where a "group of civic and religious leaders" banded together to press the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration there to revoke the Trump International Hotel's liquor license.  The group, laughably calling themselves "Make Integrity Great Again," asserted that he doesn't pass the "good character" test.

Once again, if you don't want to be called fake news, DO NOT PUSH OUT FAKE NEWS. The New York Times published an article this morning that curtains in Nikki Haley's apartment cost $52,701. Buried within the article? The Obama administration ordered the curtains in 2016 and Haley had no say in it! But muh narrative.

California Senator and likely presidential candidate Kamala Harris spread a misleadingly edited video of Brett Kavanaugh's hearing testimony, falsely claiming Kavanaugh views birth control as the equivalent of abortion. From that, the argument goes, if Kavanaugh voted against Roe v. Wade, birth control would be banned.

Many pundits, including myself, have warned that the increasingly vitriolic tone of Democratic Party leaders will eventually lead to even more actual attacks on supporters of President Trump and Republicans....in addition to the ones we have already recorded. This warning has gone unheeded, as the Democrats have continued to gin up their base using edited videos, staged camera shots, and outright hostility. It appears that the fear-and-loathing approach has worked, inasmuch as a Republican congressional candidate in California District 15 was attacked by a man uttering curses at President Donald Trump and wielding a knife.
A Republican congressional candidate in California fended off a knife attack on Sunday — and an election sign helped the candidate keep the attacker at bay, authorities said.

Professor Jacobson recently wrote a post about Obama's recent rhetoric against President Trump. In giving his speech, Obama was violating the traditional code of behavior for ex-presidents, which was to keep their mouths shut and refrain from criticizing their successors. But no one on earth should be surprised by the fact that Obama just can't stay away. In fact, there's evidence that he's been trying to undermine Trump since Trump first took office, and perhaps even before.

The internet mob attack on Zina Bash was the lowest point in days filled with low points of disruptions and protests against Brett Kavanaugh. Bash, a former law clerk to Brett Kavanaugh whose husband is a U.S. Attorney appointed by Trump, was singled out because she supposedly flashed a white supremacist hand signal while seated behind Kavanaugh during the hearings. We covered the insanity, Malicious attack on Zina Bash shows how deranged #StopKavanaugh has become

NBC's Chuck Todd amuses me; I don't know if it's his lethargic presence or his pretense at earnest thoughtfulness.  Maybe it's his "sleepy eyes."  Whatever it is, I rarely miss Meet the Press just for the chance to giggle as Todd's weekly impression of Chandler Bing from Friends (all those oddly-timed pauses and the weird emphasis on random words just cracks me up).  Whatever it is, I find it hard to take Todd seriously; he's such a doofus and that he sees himself as a person of great gravitas just adds to the funny. When I saw that he had published an article at the Atlantic, I couldn't click over quickly enough.  Sure, much of his pretentious goofiness needs to be seen and heard to be appreciated, but he's such a sloppy thinker that I just had to know what he had written.

I find it fascinating that almost two years into the Trump presidency, and #TheResistance is still dreaming of impeaching our duly-elected president and over-turning a free and fair election simply because they don't like the results. In the latest sad twist on this theme, the "Impeach Trump" media has latched onto what is ultimately a pretty innocuous statement by former Obama Secretary of Defense and former CIA chief, Leon Panetta.

Trump sat down with reporters from Bloomberg News to discuss trade discussions with Canada. The meeting was supposed to be off the record, meaning the content discussed during the meeting was not for publishing. The whole purpose of off the record meetings is to allow for candid discussion and background context, without providing content that's directly printable.

When I first heard that Senator John McCain (R-AZ) explicitly stated that he did not want President Trump to attend his funeral, I was taken aback not only by his petty smallness but by the abrupt change of tune since his insistence that Obama be treated with respect simply because he occupied the Office of the President of these United States. Asking President Trump not to attend was an extraordinary request because the lack of invitation to the sitting and duly-elected President to read a eulogy at the funeral would have been a significant rebuke.  And more than sufficient.  McCain chose the low road.

Just when I thought it couldn't get worse for Lanny Davis, the lawyer for President Donald Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen, it has and yes it includes CNN. It all goes back to that explosive CNN report in July when "sources" told the network that Cohen claimed Trump knew about the "dirt" meeting at Trump Tower with Russians. BuzzFeed reported on Monday night that source was Davis himself. Here's the buried lede: Davis came out as the source of the story, but CNN's report stated that Davis declined to comment on the story.

Robert Reich, who served as Secretary of Labor in the Clinton administration, has taken on a new role as a leader of the progressive resistance movement. Like many others on the left, Reich is taking unhinged rhetoric to new levels.
