Last Friday, Oberlin College and Dean of Students Meredith Raimondo filed their Appeal Brief, seeking to overturn the trial verdict. The NAACP also filed a ridiculous Amicus Brief supporting the college. According to the docket, at least one more Amicus Brief will be filed for a coalition of 'anti-censorship' groups. Today, Gibson's Bakery filed its Cross-Appeal Brief (pdf.)(full embed at bottom of post). Wait, what is a cross-appeal?

Oberlin College and Dean of Students Meredith Raimondo have filed their Appeal Brief (pdf.) in the Gibson's Bakery case. The NAACP also has filed an Amicus Brief (pdf.) in support of the college. Full copies of both briefs are at the bottom of this post. The Oberlin College Brief is redacted because some information was filed under seal (the information at issue in the various motions to unseal we previously covered). It's not clear whether any Amicus Briefs will be filed supporting the Gibsons, to my knowledge no one is coming to their assistance.

J Street is a  group that calls itself  "pro-Israel."  Yet "J Street’s critics argue that J Street is nothing more than a Trojan horse meant to weaken American support for Israel." As we wrote in 2009:
J-Street is a ruse. We’ve seen this before. Only Israel is wrong. Only Israel is brought up on charges when it defends itself. Only the Jewish people’s millennial history in the Holy Land is illegitimate, while the Palestinians’ 40-year old national identity is sacrosanct.

Two students from the University of Connecticut are currently under arrest because they used racial slurs. That may be tasteless and inappropriate, but at the end of the day, they're just words. These students were arrested for saying words.

According to The Washington Post, the Women's Match has decided to let loose three members due to their anti-Semitism, which has brought down the movement. Bob Bland, Tamika Mallory, and Linda Sarsour have a long history of anti-Semitism and associating themselves with anti-Semitics. But one new board member may cause the same headaches for The Women's March.

Alabama Governor Kay Ivey (R) is facing calls for her resignation following the unearthing of a college skit from 52 years ago. Back in 1967, Ivey performed in a skit called "cigar butts" in which she wore blackface. This will be the first test of "Democrat privilege" whereby Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam and AG Mark Herring weathered photos of blackface surfacing from the 1980s.  Is it only Democrats who are "privileged" enough to survived decades-old indiscretions?  Or did Democrats lose a valuable piece of political weaponry in letting Northam slide?

President Donald Trump went after former Vice President Joe Biden, the front runner in the 2020 Democratic primary, for his role in the 1994 Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act. Biden wrote the bill when he served as a senator from Delaware and chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Trump may have a point because the law eventually fell out of favor with people on both sides since "critics said it caused prison populations to swell and resulted in the mass incarceration of African Americans on drug charges." You know what's weird? Publications said the exact same thing about Hillary Clinton in 2016 since President Bill Clinton signed the bill into law.

A Wake County Superior Court judge in North Carolina has written a ruling so outlandish that state Democrats and Republicans, who are normally at each other's throats, have found themselves in rare agreement. The Raleigh News and Observer reports:
A judge has just thrown out two amendments to the North Carolina Constitution that voters approved in November.
