Three weeks ago, the Hollywood media proudly proclaimed that over 100,000 attended the Black Lives Matter rallies in Los Angeles.
After more than a week of protests against police violence following the death of George Floyd, Los Angeles saw its largest demonstration so far flood the streets of Hollywood on Sunday. An estimated 100,000 people attended the march, according to Black Lives Matter Los Angeles, which organized the action along with BLD PWR and the rapper YG.

Today's update starts with some very troubling news. Even though it is becoming apparent to anyone with necessary math skills, common sense, and basic knowledge of economics, several cities and regions throughout the nation are continuing to use voodoo modeling to prolong the pandemic stay-hat-home orders.

The left is completely loving this coronavirus lockdown stuff.  It gives them the opportunity to control even more of our lives than ever before. We've covered the unreasonable edicts flowing from leftist local and state governments, and now the mayors of New York City and Los Angeles are urging people to report their fellow citizens for social distancing violations and for "operating a business illegally."

Weeks of impeachment hearings that have mocked fairness and transparency have subsequently spilled over to other congressional activities. Scuffles broke out this weekend during a town hall event in California to mark the recent passage of US legislation officially commemorating the Armenian genocide.

I have been covering the typhus and typhoid outbreaks that have hit Southern California as a result of the rat-infestation around homeless encampments. Now an outbreak of a notorious disease, leprosy, is being reported. A recent study published as a Reuters Health report indicates the bacterial infection is emerging in the Los Angeles area (hat-tip ZeroHedge's Tyler Durden):
Leprosy, also known as Hansen's disease, is rarely seen in the United States, but cases continue to emerge in Los Angeles County, a new report says.

There have been some intriguing developments related to elections and California that may bode for a slightly less blue future for the Golden State. I recently noted that the state identified over 84,000 duplicate voter registrations during a detailed audit of rolls in the wake of Motor-Voter implementation. Now, a Republican won a seat in a recent Los Angeles City Council election, beating an enthusiastic advocate of the Green New Deal.
