The European Union's highest court has upheld the gun control regulations placed by Brussels across the 28-member state bloc. Tuesday's ruling by the European Court of Justice (ECJ) was in response to a legal challenge filed by the Czech Republic against EU's gun control directives.

The latest polls show British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has increased his lead over Labour Party rival Jeremy Corbyn. "Boris Johnson’s Tories have established their biggest lead over Labour for two years," the British newspaper The Telegraph reported. With less than three weeks to go until the December 12 election, the Conservative party is "on course for 80 seat majority" in the 650-seat Lower House, the newspaper predicted citing a "monthly poll of polls."

Prime Minister Boris Johnson-led British Conservatives have doubled their lead over the opposition Labour party days after Nigel Farage pulled hundreds of Brexit Party candidates ahead of the December 12 election. The ruling Conservative party now has the support of around 45 percent of the vote, with the left-wing Labour trailing with 28 percent, the latest YouGov poll for the UK's  Sunday Times shows.

The European Court of Justice (ECJ) has ruled that goods produced outside Israel's pre-1967 lines must be labeled as such, and may not be marketed as Israeli products. The judgment will impact food products imported into Europe from East Jerusalem, the Golan Heights, Judea, and Samaria, which the European Union does not recognize as Israeli territory. "Foodstuffs originating in the territories occupied by the State of Israel must bear the indication of their territory of origin, accompanied, where those foodstuffs come from an Israeli settlement within that territory, by the indication of that provenance," the top EU court declared on Tuesday morning.

In a massive boost to Prime Minister Boris Johnson-led British Conservatives, Nigel Farage has pulled hundreds of Brexit Party candidates ahead of the December 12 election. The Brexit Party will not field candidates in all 317 seats that the ruling Conservative party won in the last general election. "The Brexit party will not contest the 317 seats the Conservatives won at the last election," Farage said. "We will concentrate our total effort into all the seats that are held by the Labour party, who have completely broken their manifesto pledge in 2017 to respect the result of the referendum, and we will also take on the rest of the remainer parties. We will stand up and fight them all."

The UK Conservative party's lead is narrowing in polls as Remain parties enter an election pact to defeat Prime Minister Johnson and prevent Brexit ahead of the December 12 general election. The pro-EU Liberal Democrats and the Green party are targeting specific constituencies to maximize their chances of entering the parliament. The so-called 'Remain Alliance' is targeting "dozens of seats across the UK in an all-out bid to block Boris Johnson and Brexit," the Daily Mail reported Sunday.

Hungary, Poland, and the Czech Republic are in breach of the European Union law by refusing to take in migrants under the bloc's mandatory migrant quota scheme, the top EU legal adviser says. According to Advocate General Eleanor Sharpston, who advises the European Court of Justice (ECJ), the members countries of the bloc have "no legitimate security grounds to reject the quota scheme" that proposes to settle hundreds of thousands migrants arriving in Europe.

Britain is heading for a general election in December after lawmakers overwhelmingly voted for the proposal brought by Prime Minister Boris Johnson. The UK Lower House voted 438 to 20 in favor of the "Early Parliamentary General Election Bill," paving the way for December 12 vote.

The Czech parliament passed a resolution last Tuesday condemning the Israel boycott movement as antisemitic. The non-binding resolution calling on the government to stop funding to groups promoting the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against the Jewish State, was adopted with overwhelming support from the deputies in the country's Lower House, receiving 120 votes in favor and 20 against.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has vowed to “use force” to protect the country’s borders after Turkey threatened to unleash a wave of immigrants into Europe, French TV network Euronews reported. The statement came after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's threatened to “open the gates and send 3.6 million” migrants over to Europe.

Poland’s ruling nationalist Law and Justice party (PiS) has won the parliamentary election. Party leader Jarosław Kaczyński declared victory after securing close to 44 percent of the vote on Monday afternoon. The Catholic-conservative PiS is set to secure an absolute majority of 239 in the 460-seat parliament, initial projections show.
