Bumper Stickers  (Page 28)

Do not look directly at it

You’ll go mad.

Commenter K took this photo in Gainesville, FL, and writes:

I don’t know what it is about the “It’s Working, You’re Welcome” sticker that gets under my skin more than most others but it has the effect of temporarily clouding my vision.

The sheer arrogance, the CHUTZPAH of such an assumption…

I’m a reluctant Romney supporter but I’ll get behind almost any candidate, any cause, that would wipe the smug grin off the driver’s face.

Zombies are the One Percent

From reader J:

Here’s a pic of a car in Charlottesville, VA, of an OFFICIAL NAVY car with a bumper sticker showing our illustrious leader punching out “zombies.”

Are we to infer that these “zombies” are anyone who dares to disagree with him?

Whatever happened to “Dissent is patriotic”?

Update:  Reader J responds to comments,

I should have more thoroughly vetted this, and regret not having done so. Turns out it’s a specialty plate available to anyone. It just looked so official! http://www.flhsmv.gov/dmv/specialtytags/miscellaneous/u.s._navy.html

Here’s the view, showing how easy it was to make the mistake:

Too big to be contained

on just one bumper sticker.

From the Turfmann:

Offered for your amusement, spied in Barney Frank’s Congressional District in the People’s Republic of Massachusetts.

“Obama Sucks too much for just one bumper sticker.”

All the best – keep up the good work!

Take this Community Survey form and ….

Sent with the subject line “Will you defend me?”

Ah, the American Community Survey. Have you received it lately? This is the second time in 2 years for me. Maybe something to do with Colorado.

The faq states the survey states the benefits to be “help your community to establish goals, identify problems and solutions, and measure the performance of programs.”

I’m reminded of Reagan, and a statement of I’m from the government and I’m here to help.

I hope my responses don’t land me in jail, but part of liberty is the freedom to tell ’em where to stick it!!

Thank you,

Obama speech in one bumper sticker

Posted by  ▪  Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 7:00am 9/5/2012 at 7:00am

Any speech on domestic policy.

It’s a one size fits all condensed version.  All the other stuff is just fluff.

Found on yet another car in Ithaca not too far from my house with multiple anti-Obama stickers. This vehicle was on the same street as the vehicle with the Pocket Platform, so must be a from the same family. I probably should knock on the door.

DNC pocket platform

We have ours.

They have theirs.

Spotted, of all places, in Ithaca:

Somewhere Dennis Prager must be smiling

Another alumnus of Prager University.

From reader R:

If you knew Harry, like they know Harry

From reader Steven:

My wife, son and I traveled from the smokey environs of north east California (one of the few conservative areas in the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia) into Reno for a little shopping.

Caught up to this truck at a stop light and grabbed my phone for the picture before the light turned green. It took a moment to register the first time I saw the bumper sticker, I was just glad we got to the long red at the next intersection.

The trip into Reno was quite interesting, there were thousands of Hipsters (I guess they would be the modern version of hippies) gearing up for Burning Man. Haven’t seen that many heads in dreadlocks since . . . well . . . last time we happened to be in Reno right before the festival or whatever they call it. I included a link, I got a kick out of some of their utopian beliefs.

From reader Henry:

I’ve always told my kids that any vehicle sporting more than 3 bumper stickers is probably owned by a “wacko”.

Here are a couple of photos of such a car that I spotted this morning in Santa Fe, NM.

I note that I regard Santa Fe as similar to Berkeley, except without the intelligent life forms.

You can’t have it both ways

From Catherine in Tennessee:

This is a new one. Thought I would share it.

Either that, or …

I’ll let you finish the sentence in light of the bumper sticker below.

From reader Amy, who took this photo a few days ago in Aurora, CO:

I found a bumper sticker for you in the humor category. It made me laugh anyway, and I thought I’d point out the driver is female.

I probably wouldn’t put a Romney sticker on my car, since my support for him is tepid at best (yes, I’ll vote for him, but only with a big sigh).

But this is the kind of sticker I could get behind for this election season. 🙂

Keep up the good work.

He may be documented, but he’s no worker

From reader Brian:

Seen at a stop light on Route 50, Maryland eastern shore.

A bit of birtherisim but I like the drill sticker.

Love the blog Professor.

I don’t think they’re questioning his birthplace, I think they’re saying it’s undocumented that he actually works.

Add up the golf days and the fundraising events, and I think they are onto something.

Now I believe

Posted by  ▪  Sunday, August 26, 2012 at 7:00am 8/26/2012 at 7:00am

I have been sent many photos along the “Does this ass … ” theme, but I’ve always been suspicious that they were PhotoShops floating around the internets.

Would someone really put such a sign on his or her truck?

Isn’t that disrespectful of the bitter little clingers?  Where do they come off giving it back just as good as they got it?

But this one from reader Jeff has me believing:

Spotted driving on Interstate 5 south of Portland, Oregon.

Really gutsy call

Posted by  ▪  Friday, August 24, 2012 at 7:00am 8/24/2012 at 7:00am

Parking in a university lot with an anti-Obama bumper sticker.

From a reader on staff at Cornell:

I don’t remember seeing this bumper sticker on your site.

The photo was taken in the parking lot of Cornell’s parking office.

From reader Derek:

I visit your site regularly.

I spotted this sign while traveling last weekend Aug 18th.

It was in Milford, CT.  I thought you might like it.

Obama gets an ‘A’ for effort

Posted by  ▪  Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 7:00am 8/22/2012 at 7:00am

It will take more than 4 years for the full effects of Obamanomics to be achieved.  But not for lack of trying.

From reader Rod:

Took this picture while driving with friends through Temple, Tx.

On me.

Another from Tracy, whose bumper sticker photo yesterday was noticed:

We saw this car recently in Hatteras, North Carolina.
