At last night's Democrat debate, the mayor of South Bend, Indiana and one of the legions of Democrat candidates for president Pete Buttigieg responded well to attacks by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA). She started out quite puffed up and pleased with herself as she launched into a holier-than-thou tirade about Buttigieg's "wine cave" fundraiser.  It wasn't long, however, before Buttigieg landed a few home truths that left her visibly shaken and extremely defensive.

Democrats and their media cohorts are quite pleased with their success in forcing through sham impeachment articles along mostly partisan lines, with the only ones crossing party lines being Democrats who voted with Republicans not to impeach.  Granted, Democrats are still worried that their attempt to interfere with the 2020 election won't pay off and President Trump will be reelected, but mostly they are celebratory.

Here at LI, we have covered extensively President Trump's former campaign chair Paul Manafort.  Manafort, who is serving time in federal prison after being indicted by Robert Mueller, was also charged by New York state in an apparent effort to block a possible Trump pardon. The effort has, so far, failed as a NY judge has tossed out the case, citing double jeopardy.

Every once in a while a story catches my eye because it just seems so ludicrous that I have to click over to ensure it's accurate. This is one of those times. CNN's Jeffrey Tobbin, confronted with a CNN poll no less, is in utter denial that the Democrats' misguided impeachment witch hunt is failing even among Democrat voters. Toobin, upon hearing that there is a double-digit drop in Democrat support for impeachment and removal said he didn't believe it for "one second." He declared the poll "wrong" because . . . he "said so."

Last month, I blogged about the Virginia Election Fallout: Gov. Northam “Working On” Assault Weapon Confiscation. Since then, the pushback in Virginia has been immense, with entire cities and towns declaring themselves Second Amendment sanctuaries and one Virginia sheriff promising to deputize thousands of residents in an entire county to ensure that their #2A rights are not violated.

How bad is the current crop of candidates for the 2020 Democrat presidential nomination? So bad that a recent Harvard/Harris poll shows Democrat primary voters rejecting the current slate of candidates and selecting as their top pick someone who is not even in the race. Twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was their top choice.

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) appeared on Fox News Sunday morning and blasted House Democrats in general and Rep. Adam Schiff (D-NY) in particular.  Graham, who serves as Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, also shared his intention to end the impeachment trial "as quickly as I can for the good of the country."

Under Obama, being on food stamps was portrayed as "cool" and even something to aspire to.  After all, one could get lobster and a host of other luxury food items via the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).  The Obama administration urged everyone who could remotely qualify to enroll. In fact, Obama vastly expanded food stamps eligibility and the number of food stamp recipients.

Democrat presidential hopefuls Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Bernie Sanders (I-VT), both lowly millionaires, have taken aim at late entrant former NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg (D-NY) for being a billionaire. This is so ridiculous on its face that Bloomberg all but dismisses it by noting that any of the current crop of Democrats vying for their party's 2020 nomination will be "eat[en] up" by President Trump.
