A decidedly progressive student group at Cornell University called Black Students United has sent a letter to school administrators saying they want the entire faculty to undergo training in diversity and a host of other garden variety issues in identity politics. The Cornell Daily Sun has the story:
Cornell Black Students United to Submit Faculty Training Resolution to Student Assembly Black Students United will present a resolution prompting the Faculty Senate to examine how Cornell’s faculty members are educated in diversity issues at the Student Assembly’s meeting on Thursday. The resolution originated from one of the demands BSU delivered to Cornell’s administration last semester regarding faculty training, according to a BSU facebook post.

Three students from the State University of New York at Albany claimed in January that they were victims of assault on a bus and that the motivation for the crime was racism. They are now being charged for filing a false claim. CNN reports:
N.Y. college students accused of fabricating racially motivated attack Three New York college students who said they were targets of a racially motivated attack face multiple charges for what prosecutors are calling a false claim. A grand jury on Monday indicted Ariel Agudio, Asha Burwell and Alexis Briggs, all 20, each on a charge of third-degree assault and multiple counts of falsely reporting an incident, the Albany District Attorney's Office said.

Bill Clinton was campaigning for his wife in West Virginia on Sunday when he was confronted by members of the audience who were clearly angry about Hillary's promise to put coal miners out of business. Coal is pretty important in West Virginia. The Washington Free Beacon reported:

Bernie Sanders has raised a ton of cash in the 2016 primary season. Progressive grassroots activists making small donations have even put Sanders ahead of Clinton in recent months but the pace is slowing. The New York Times reports:

Like many leftists in America, leftists in Germany want their country to take in more refugees despite the social and economic issues the country has been dealing with for months. A German right wing party, Alternative for Germany ("AfD"), which opposes increased immigration, is holding a conference this weekend and leftists turned out to protest. The Huffington Post reports:

Ralph Nader is best known for his work as a consumer advocate and for being a spoiler candidate in the 2000 presidential election. Now he's urging Bernie Sanders to stay in the 2016 race, which is kind of hilarious. Telesur News reports:

The American economy is off to a horrible start in 2016. GDP grew a measly 0.5 percent in the first quarter of this year. No wonder Democrats want to talk about transgender people and bathrooms. Bloomberg reports:

Austria is also in the midst of a presidential election and the subject of the migrant crisis is playing a significant role. The nation's conservative party is doing very well. BBC News reports:

Norbert Hofer has about 36% of the votes for the mostly ceremonial role - not enough to avoid a run-off in May. He is likely to face Alexander Van der Bellen, an independent contender backed by the Greens, who is polling 20%. For the first time since World War Two, the candidates from Austria's two main parties did not make it to the run-off.

According to a new poll conducted by Harvard, a majority of Millennials reject the idea of capitalism. It's no surprise that a generation of people who grew up in the era of "everyone gets a trophy" reject the idea of unequal rewards based on hard work. Millennials were educated largely by public schools obsessed with the idea of fairness and afraid in some cases to let children play the game of tag. One has to wonder if the participants responded on their iPhones. The Washington Post published the details of the poll:

We've been featuring Prager University videos at College Insurrection for years now and we figured it was about time we showcased them here at Legal Insurrection once in a while. Dennis Prager has done an outstanding job with his online university and affiliated videos which cover everything from government issues to social policy and beyond. The videos are hosted by figures from politics, media, business, the arts and education. In an appearance on FOX News Sunday today, DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schulz dismissed Hillary Clinton's email scandal and the ongoing FBI investigation as a non-issue. Host Chris Wallace called her out for innacurate comparisons to other officials. The Washington Free Beacon reports:

A new report from the Associated Press says that a significant number of companies which paid Hillary Clinton for speeches had interests in government business. This may explain why she has been so reluctant to release her speech transcripts. Here's an excerpt from the report:
Firms that paid for Clinton speeches have US gov't interests WASHINGTON (AP) — It's not just Wall Street banks. Most companies and groups that paid Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton to speak between 2013 and 2015 have lobbied federal agencies in recent years, and more than one-third are government contractors, an Associated Press review has found. Their interests are sprawling and would follow Clinton to the White House should she win election this fall.

Virginia's Democrat governor Terry McAuliffe just gave his party and Hillary Clinton a huge gift for the 2016 election by granting felons the right to vote. He did it by executive order to circumvent the state's Republican led legislature and claimed it was all about righting wrongs of the past. The New York Times reported:
Virginia Governor Restores Voting Rights to Felons WASHINGTON — Gov. Terry McAuliffe of Virginia used his executive power on Friday to restore voting rights to more than 200,000 convicted felons, circumventing the Republican-run legislature. The action effectively overturns a Civil War-era provision in the state’s Constitution aimed, he said, at disenfranchising African-Americans.
