The Houston Health Department confirmed seven mumps cases at the city's U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility.
Officials said that all seven people were adults who were detained during the time they became sick. "Since these individuals were isolated inside the facility during the period they were infectious, we do not anticipate these cases posing a threat to the community," said Dr. David Persse, Houston's local health authority and EMS medical director."

The anti-EU parties are poised to win one-third of the seats in the EU Parliament election in May, according to a study titled "The 2019 European Election: How anti-Europeans plan to wreck Europe and what can be done to stop it," released by a pro-EU think-tank. By securing the controlling share of the seats, the anti-establishment rightist parties could "paralyze decision-making at the center of the EU" and end up "curbing the [bloc's] liberal orientation and returning power to member states," the London-based European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) said.

I'm so old, I remember when the Democrats' Green New Deal was going to build so much high speed rail there would be no need for airplane travel.
Totally overhaul transportation by massively expanding electric vehicle manufacturing, build charging stations everywhere, build out highspeed rail at a scale where air travel stops becoming necessary, create affordable public transit available to all, with goal to replace every combustion-engine vehicle. While on a book tour last December, former VP Joe Biden told a group of people in Montana that he had given himself a two month window to decide on another possible presidential run while pointing out his bonafides. The Hill reported at the time:
While Biden hasn’t made a decision about the 2020 race, he is sounding increasingly like a presidential candidate. In Montana, Biden said he was “the most qualified person in the country to be president.”

I've long predicted that the point would come when Democrats, frustrated and forlorn at the mediocre qualities of their primary candidates, would search for a salvation candidate. Think about who have declared so far: Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, Amy from Minnesota, Kirsten Gillibrand -- all second tier politicians who will pick up the anti-Trump vote just by being Democrats, but not much more. Tulsi Gabbard is a new face nationally, but has too much Assad baggage. Julian Castro is the guy who had less responsibility as Mayor of San Antonio than Sarah Palin had as the Mayor of Wasilla.

The House Democratic Leadership has finally condemned the latest anti-Semitic language we have seen from Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) where she suggested that Republicans only support Israel and condemn anti-Semitism because of money. From Fox News:
“We are and will always be strong supporters of Israel in Congress because we understand that our support is based on shared values and strategic interests. Legitimate criticism of Israel’s policies is protected by the values of free speech and democratic debate that the United States and Israel share. But Congresswoman Omar’s use of anti-Semitic tropes and prejudicial accusations about Israel’s supporters is deeply offensive. We condemn these remarks and we call upon Congresswoman Omar to immediately apologize for these hurtful comments."
