By the time you read this, Ralph Northam may or may not still be Governor of Virginia. He is paying the price for the gotcha racial politics he and Democrats use against others, except in this case there actually is a there there, in the form of his medical school yearbook photo showing him either in blackface or a Klan robe (not clear which he is), VA DEM Gov. Ralph Northam quickly moves from infanticide scandal to blackface/KKK yearbook mess.

This Case of the Week focuses on a real-world example of the application of the self-defense law doctrine of “regaining innocence.” One of the five elements of a claim of self-defense justification for a use-of-force against another person is the element of innocence, which denies the justification of self-defense to a person who was the initial aggressor in a fight. “Initial aggressor” generally means the person who was the first to threaten or use unlawful physical force against another. So that’s that, right? The initial aggressor loses the legal justification of self-defense? Not so fast! As the late-night TV infomercials say, “Wait! There’s more!”

When Virginia legislator Kathy Tran explained on video that the "reproductive" rights bill being pushed by Virginia Democrats allowed for abortion on demand even during labor to protect the mental health of the mother, conservatives "pounced" and "seized" on it, in liberal media parlance. Not Democrat Virginia Governor Ralph Northam. He pulled a "hold my beer" move and in an interview defended post-birth abortion. If a child were delivered, according to Northam, the child would be kept comfortable while mother and medical staff talked about its fate.

Kathy Tran desperately needed some good PR Thursday in the aftermath of the controversy surrounding her radical abortion law proposal, and when a Twitter post of hers failed to persuade people, a familiar Democrat-friendly source swooped in to try and save the day. The Virginia Democratic Delegate reactivated her Twitter account Thursday morning to address the "misinformation" being spread about "The Repeal Act", which would significantly loosen restrictions on third trimester abortions and make access to them much easier:

The economy added 304,000 jobs in January, the 100th month in a row with growth. Experts predicted only 107,000 jobs in January. Labor force participation (LFP) is the highest it's been since 2014 at 63.2%. Average hourly wages only grew by 0.1%, but overall it's up 3.2% from a year ago. The unemployment went up slightly from 3.9% to 4%.

Elizabeth Warren launched her presidential exploratory committee on New Year's Eve day 2018, including the now-infamous beer drinking live stream. She is expected to launch her official campaign next week. Ever since her 2012 Senate campaign, Warren has attempted to shift the conversation away from her Native American controversy. The problem is two-fold.

The MSM continues its silence on the growing attacks on Jews in Brooklyn. Even with video, these attacks mostly remain a local New York City story. Even the local NYC media doesn't cover attack, which leaves it up to the Jewish media. I tweeted about one such story on January 15th.
