Rep. Maxine Waters of California has made an industry out of opposing Trump. Her constant calls for Trump's impeachment has earned her the nickname "Auntie Maxine" from hordes of progressive youngsters. She won't be offering the official Democratic Party response to Trump's state of the union address (more on that in a moment), but she will be offering her own response.

Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel has angered the Palestinian Authority leadership so much that they cut off diplomacy with the U.S. regarding peace talks with Israel. Mahmoud Abbas tried, unsuccessfully, to get the Europeans to substitute for the U.S., and has launched nearly deranged tirades against the Trump (and also denied Jewish history in the region).

As the open-borders agenda of the left finally sees the light of day, it's not surprising to learn that blue cities and states are no longer solely committed to refusing to work with ICE.  They are now actively working against federal immigration law and policy, even going so far as to issue emergency rules intended to protect illegal aliens from deportation. In Washington state, one such "emergency rule" was approved Friday.  The rule says that the country of birth is no longer required on applications for Washington driver licenses.  Washington state officials say that asking for the place of one's birth on an application for a driver license can lead to targeting by ICE.  They are having none of that.

According to its website, New York City's Guggenheim Museum "collects, preserves, and interprets modern and contemporary art, and explores ideas across cultures through dynamic curatorial and educational initiatives and collaborations.". Therefore, when given the opportunity to send a Vincent Van Gogh piece to display at the White House, so First Lady Melania Trump could demonstrate American support for classic art, the representatives at the Guggenheim behaved in the professional and exemplary manner that you would expect from the New York City art world:

I admit to being a bit puzzled by the leftist outrage over President Trump's proposed DACA deal.  I fail to see anything "racist" about providing a pathway to citizenship for over a million illegal aliens (or in any of the other proposed provisions). House minority leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), however, seems to imagine that it's some kind of  white supremacist plot.

The framework of a proposal unveiled by the White House provides for a pathway to citizenship for 1.8 million so-called Dreamers, 25 billion for border security and The Wall, and an end of extended-family chain migration (though immediate family chain migration still permitted). Now that Larry Nassar has received over 100 years for molesting hundreds of girls, the fallout has begun at Michigan State University and how officials handled the accusations over the years. From Lansing State Journal:
A 2014 sexual assault investigation of Larry Nassar by MSU’s Title IX office concluded that his conduct could open the university to lawsuits and expose patients to “unnecessary trauma based on the possibility of perceived inappropriate sexual misconduct.”

Sorry, Democrats, but as it stands now, Oprah says she's not interested in relocating to D.C. Oprah's rousing speech at this year's Golden Globe Awards had the entire internet abuzz (mainly Democrats) with the hope the talk show hostess might challenge Trump in 2020. A Draft Oprah group was created, and pollsters and pundits took the wish-casting seriously.

As the #MeToo movement seems to be winding down, the New York Times reveals that back in 2008 a top adviser to then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was accused of ongoing sexual harassment of an aide.  Hillary herself, the NYT reports, insisted that he remain with her campaign. One of the great ironies of twice-failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary's 2016 defeat is that had she been elected, the entire #MeToo movement may not have happened at all.  It certainly wouldn't have gained the traction it did if Hillary and Bill were occupying the White House.
