Gunmen with explosives killed over 200 people at a Sufi mosque in the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt. From Fox News:
The extremists launched an attack on the al-Rawdah mosque in the town of Bir al-Abd, some 25 miles from the North Sinai provincial capital of el-Arish, Egypt's state news agency MENA reported. The attack appeared to be the latest by the area's local Islamic State affiliate.

By now, most people know the back story. In the run-up to the 2012 election, Tea Party groups and other conservative organizations were subjected to unnecessary scrutiny and even harassment by the IRS to whom they were applying for non-profit status.

From a purely partisan standpoint, it's better for Republicans if Al Franken stays in the Senate. Franken is a living, breathing monument to liberal hypocrisy, an accused serial groper and tongue-shover-in-mouther who reminds us daily that whatever else it is, the Democratic Party is the party that promoted and covered for the lustful Kennedy brothers and their more modern progeny, Bill Clinton. If only Teddy had a Hillary to go to bat for him when he needed it most; just think what she would have done to the reputation and memory of poor Mary Jo Kopechne.

Earlier this week, White House press secretary asked reporters what they were thankful for and has since been castigated for "humiliating" and "degrading" the press. CNN reports:
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders encouraged reporters to first state things they were thankful for before asking their questions. Most of them obliged. They shouldn't have. Reporters ask questions at press briefings. Spokespeople answer them.

California billionaire Tom Steyer has caught the eye of many since he decided to fund an advertising campaign worth $20 million that calls for President Donald Trump's impeachment. Considering how much Democrats hate Trump, you would think those within the party would love this campaign. It turns out it has raised worries as some think it will harm the party more and turn away the independents and even some GOP voters they want to bring over to their side.

George Washington's Thanksgiving Proclamation written in 1789 is essential holiday reading. The colonies frequently set, "aside days of thanksgiving, prayer, and fasting in response to significant events," according to Mount Vernon's historical sources.

Happy Thanksgiving. This year, I wanted to take an in-depth look at cranberries, which are second only to the turkey drumstick as the favorite component of my holiday meal. The little, red sphere of tartness turns out to be only one of three fruits that naturally occur in North America (the other two being blueberries and Concord grapes).

Berlin wants to bring back the children of German Islamic State terrorists currently being held under Iraqi detention, German newspapers report. German Foreign Office has asked the Iraqi government to grant exit permits to the children of captive Islamic State members. Many of these children hold "ISIS birth certificates," a German broadcaster reported. So far, Iraqi and Kurdish authorities have not given any assurances to the German negotiators in this regard.

Janell Ross, a national reporter for the Washington Post, appeared at a secretive meeting of progressive Democrats earlier this month which included other guests such as George Soros. She attended the meeting without the knowledge of the Post and participated in a panel about economic messaging.

From all of us at Legal Insurrection, to you, dear reader, we wish you the Happiest of Thanksgivings. May gratefulness and thanksgiving be your constant companions and may you enjoy the fullness and richness of blessings this life has so generously given. We are truly thankful for you. This year, our authors, editors, and contributors share their favorite parts of Thanksgiving, their cherished memories, and reflect on that which makes them grateful.

In 1991, Anita Hill claimed Supreme Court Justice nominee Clarence Thomas had sexually harassed her while she was in her 20s. She testified at Thomas' confirmation hearings before five white, male Senators. At the time former Vice President Joe Biden served as the Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman. As decades-old sexual misdoing allegations surface in every facet of public life, Hill's story has been met with renewed interest. To her, Biden has yet to take "ownership of his role in what happened."
