While the 2018 Texas Senate race is slowly simmering on the backburner, fundraising and campaign efforts on the ground are in full swing. Beto O'Rourke, the young Democrat Congressman from El Paso has emerged as the only challenger to incumbent Sen. Cruz thus far. Thanks to social media, O'Rourke landed on the radar of one of Hollywood's most vocal left-wingers -- Rosie O'Donnell. O'Donnell proudly tweeted her support for O'Rourke and boasted giving the max contribution to his campaign.

Elizabeth Warren has claimed at various points in her life to be Native American, most notably when she was climbing the law professor ladder. When she got tenure at Harvard Law School, she dropped the self-identification. By all available evidence, Warren's claims are false. Warren never has come forward with any credible evidence, and Cherokee genealogists who have followed her family lines have proven there is no Indian ancestry (neither Cherokee nor Delaware).

On this day, 73 years ago, the Allies stormed into Normandy, France, and led an invasion to liberate Western Europe from the Germans. These men risked everything to bring an end to one of the most evil regimes in history. American, British, and Canadian soldiers took part in Operation Overloard, also known as D-Day, along the 50 miles of five beaches. D-Day is "one of the largest amphibious military assaults in history."

Merkel's government wants to kick off "peace talks" with Jihadist terror group Taliban while Germany's Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel revealed his country's involvement in negotiations with Afghanistan-based terrorist group. "We are involved in finding a political solution between the hostile camps," German Foreign Minister confirmed. It is, however, unclear how Merkel government wants to "make peace" with an Islamist group that remains committed to global Jihad and seeks annihilation of all ‘infidels’. "One doesn't make peace with friends, rather with enemies," Foreign Minister Gabriel told German newspaper Bild am Sonntag. Neville Chamberlain couldn't have said it better. Ousted from power by a US-led military operation 16 years ago, Taliban has managed to make substantial gains during the eight years of Obama presidency, taking back nearly 40 percent of the country.

Two months ago, we reported on Morning Joe going "Crazy over Trump's Mental Health." The show was back on that beat today, with two variations on the theme. First, panel members were able to cite a Wall Street Journal editorial harshly criticizing President Trump for his tweeting habits, describing him as a person "with a propensity for self-destructive behavior [who] can’t seem to help" himself and who is his own "most effective opponent." That same Wall Street Journal editorial reports that a recent Trump Twitter burst came in response to a Morning Joe segment on the immigration executive order.

NSA contractor Reality Leigh Winner faces charges for mailing classified information to a media outlet. Winner gave a report to The Intercept that shows "Russian military intelligence executed a cyberattack on at least one U.S. voting software supplier and sent spear-phishing emails to more than 100 local election officials just days before last November’s presidential election." The FBI arrested Winner on June 3 at her home in Georgia. She went to court on Monday afternoon.

Al Franken has been forced to cancel appearances with two of his liberal friends in entertainment in just the last two weeks. Franken was scheduled to make an appearance with liberal comedian Kathy Griffin in July but cancelled when Griffin imploded over the highly publicized photo of her holding President Trump's severed head. Now he's backing out of an appearance on Bill Maher's HBO program. Todd Van Luling reports at the Huffington Post:
Senator Al Franken Cancels Bill Maher Appearance Amid Controversy A spokesperson for Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) confirmed to HuffPost that the senator is canceling his appearance on the upcoming episode of “Real Time” in the wake of host Bill Maher’s use of a racial slur on-air.

Note: This post is the first in our daily re-created coverage of the Six-Day War. Starting Monday June 5 and concluding on Saturday June 10, we will cover each night the war as the events happened in 1967.  For a prelude, see 50th Anniversary of Six-Day War: The Eve of War. In the early morning hours of June 5, Israel launched an aerial strike on Egyptian air force bases. The attack was in response to the huge dangers that the country has faced in recent weeks—at least 200,000 Arab troops and some 1,000 tanks massed at its border—and the Soviet-backed Egyptian leader Gamal Abdel Nasser’s ongoing provocations. Israel has finally come to terms with Egypt’s threat to destroy it.

There he went again. Early this morning Donald Trump launched a twitter storm regarding the issue of the Executive Orders regarding visa entry to the U.S. from 6 (originally 7) majority Muslim nations previously identified by the Obama administration as posing unique security risks. On January 28, 2017, just after the first Executive Order, I addressed much of the nonsense in the media about the substance of the Executive Order, Most claims about Trump’s visa Executive Order are false or misleading. Most significantly, it was inaccurate to describe it as a "Muslim ban," which was the media descriptor of choice.

President Donald Trump and Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao have a plan to make air travel better: privative air traffic control. From CNN Money:
"We live in a modern age, but our air traffic control system is stuck, painfully, in the past," he said at a White House event attended by current and former transportation department officials. "Americans can look forward to cheaper, faster and safer travel."

ESPN has been experiencing a precipitous ratings drop in recent years, due in part to the growing "cord-cutting" trend (cancellation of paid cable and satellite subscriptions) but also due to its increasingly shrill leftist politics. In an apparent effort to turn the tide, the cable sports network has announced that Hank Williams, Jr. will be returning to Monday Night Football this fall.
