Trump Derangement Syndrome Tag

While much of the media and the American public was focused in the Iran attack this week, President Donald Trump announced significant changes to the nation’s landmark environmental law. The changes would make it easier for federal agencies to approve infrastructure projects without jumping through needless hoops set by green justice bureaucrats.

You just knew that in an era of pathological Trump Derangement Syndrome, Democrats would blame Trump for Iran shooting down a Ukrainian airliner at Tehran airport on the night Iran fired ballistic missiles at bases in Iraq housing U.S. troops. Iran fired the missile, there were no U.S. planes in action over Tehran and we were not firing at them, but somehow Trump would be blamed. Laurence Tribe, the TDS-infused Harvard Law School professor, is going there:

Remember when President Barack Obama put troops in Syria without Congressional approval? Remember when he droned a U.S. citizen and his family without Congressional approval? Silence from the left. But now that President Donald Trump ordered an attack that killed Iran's Qassem Soleimani, the architect behind the regime's war on America and Israel, Democrats now care about the Constitution.

Rachel Maddow gets my nod as the Worst Media Person for 2016-2019. She deserves that title not because she's anti-Trump deranged -- so are most of the hosts and guests on MSNBC and CNN, and large numbers of reporters and opinion-makers at major newspapers. And Maddow's not the worst at MSNBC -- Lawrence O'Donnell is hate-filled and angry, but no one takes his intellect seriously. Maddow, by contrast, managed to defraud her own viewers with pungent conspiracy fear-mongering that has led them down a dark dead-ended alleyway, while maintaining the patina of intellectualism.

New York's TDS-addled governor Andrew Cuomo (D) vetoed a bill that would have permitted federal judges to officiate at weddings because Trump. The bill was innocuous and passed both NY state's senate and assembly with overwhelming and bipartisan support.  Cuomo's veto memo specified that Trump-appointed federal judges should not be allowed to perform weddings in the state . . . because Trump appointed them.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi declared Wednesday a solemn day and even wore black as the House voted to impeach President Donald Trump. She told the Democrats to behave and not celebrate the impeachment. Many Democratic representatives refused to toe the line. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff and others had a celebratory dinner the night before. Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who screamed "impeach the mother f*cker" after her swearing-in, posted a happy and gleeful video on her way to vote.

Every once in a while a story catches my eye because it just seems so ludicrous that I have to click over to ensure it's accurate. This is one of those times. CNN's Jeffrey Tobbin, confronted with a CNN poll no less, is in utter denial that the Democrats' misguided impeachment witch hunt is failing even among Democrat voters. Toobin, upon hearing that there is a double-digit drop in Democrat support for impeachment and removal said he didn't believe it for "one second." He declared the poll "wrong" because . . . he "said so."
