The president of George Mason University wants to give minorities a big advantage in hiring until the faculty is as heavily minority as the school's student body and the future, mostly non-white U.S. population. This is illegal, say lawyers and law professors. Indeed, GMU's president, Gregory Washington, recognized that objection in an April 15 email to the university's faculty, before saying it wouldn't stop him from giving minorities a preference in hiring. Washington quoted a professor as saying:

Out of all the things Washington Post "fact-checker" Glenn Kessler to fact-check he chose Republican South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott's grandfather. Kessler chose to fact-check the only black Republican senator's grandfather's history. Totally not a coincidence Kessler's piece comes out the day after Scott was chosen to deliver the Republican rebuttal to President Joe Biden's State of the Union.

Queens Supreme Court Justice Louis Nock said he had to release the man accused of attacking an undercover Asian NYPD cop without bail due to New York's new bail rules:
Suspect Ricardo Hernandez, 32 — who faces three hate-crime charges in the attack on the unnamed cop on a Long Island City train platform around 5:30 p.m. Saturday — has at least 12 prior arrests under his belt.

In San FranciscoOaklandNew York City, and Atlanta, Americans of Asian descent have been attacked in a surge of crimes.  These attacks have fueled nationwide rallies, vigils and virtual events, with participants shouting “Stop Asian Hate” to all within earshot or on Zoom.  Social media posts with the now trendy hashtag, #Stop Asian Hate, have proliferated.
