Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice reminded the ladies on The View of the importance of the Second Amendment. Her father and neighbors used guns to protect themselves against the KKK and racists while growing up in the deep south. From The Blaze:
“I was a little girl growing up in Birmingham, Alabama, in the late fifties, early sixties,” she explained. “There was no way that Bull Connor and the Birmingham Police were going to protect you.”

The weekend, I discussed that Trump Derangement Syndrome had affected the America media so badly that it distorted its space-time continuum. It appears fewer people want to travel to #Planet Resistance, which led the #FakeNews makers purchased fake Twitter followers to promote their alternative reality.
Big media outlets have embraced Twitter as a distribution platform but still struggle with how reporters and editors use the social media service, particularly when they appear to be breaching journalism ethics.

At the end of every year, we see a flurry of predictions for the coming year.  None were as amusing as last year's apocalyptic hysteria as the left contemplated the calamities they envisioned for 2017. President Trump, they assured us, would destroy our and the global economy, "punish" journalists, quit Twitter, take over Voice of America, and of course, be impeached by year's end.

The New Yorker has cut Ryan Lizza over alleged sexual misconduct:

Earlier this week, I reviewed that cases of California politicians who were charged with sexual harassment by numerous women who work with the state Assembly and Senate in Sacramento. I must admit, I was a little surprised that some comments seemed to indicate we were facing a new millennium version of the Salem Witch Trials. Therefore, I would like to offer another analogy.

The New York Times has suspended its White House reporter Glenn Thrush after Vox published an article of alleged sexual misconduct towards young female journalists. The author Laura McGann worked at Politico with Thrush had her own incidents with Thrush, but spoke to several other females who had similar experiences with the reporter.

A few nights ago on The Five, Greg Gutfeld delivered a monologue that you really need to watch. Greg does an excellent job of reminding us that the real America isn't the one we see portrayed in liberal media or on Twitter. Real America is the one we have seen played out over the last week in Texas, where Americans of all kinds have come together to help each other in a time of need.

What in the world is going on at the FOX News channel? In the past year, Megan Kelly and Greta Van Susteren left the network. Roger Ailes was forced out and Bill O'Reilly left when it looked like he was going to face an investigation. Eric Bolling has now been suspended over an allegation that he sent lewd text messages.

America has a problem, a fact problem. And it's being felt across the political spectrum. Yesterday morning as tradition dictates, I met one of my oldest and dearest friends for brunch. She's well-informed, well-read, incredibly bright, and quite liberal. After catching up on all things personal the conversation shifted to the current political climate. She expressed her frustration with having to sift through ten different articles from major, legacy publications, in order to piece together the basic facts of any given story.
