I couldn't help but chuckle reading the latest Wall Street Journal report detailing Canada's lack of charity to incoming immigrants. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was the progressive hero of the hour when a newly inaugurated Trump issued his first travel executive order, attempting to temporarily curb immigration from known state sponsors of terror.

Friday, a federal judge granted Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel his request for an injunction on a Justice Department advisory. In March, Attorney General Jeff Sessions held a press conference where he reiterated current federal regulations requiring local law enforcement officials to communicate with federal officials on certain immigration matters. Failure to do so, he explained, could result in loss of federal funding. Last month, Emanuel requested an injunction on DOJ policy.

In a jaw-dropping case involving an illegal alien wanted for deportation, a police officer's weapon, and local law enforcement not only ignoring an ICE request to block his release but removing an ICE monitoring device, a young San Francisco man has been murdered during a robbery. The Sacramento Bee reports:
Federal immigration agents were tracking a teenager who was facing deportation when he fatally shot a popular community volunteer during a robbery in San Francisco, authorities said Friday. The slaying occurred on Aug. 15, four days after sheriff's investigators say 18-year-old Erick Garcia-Pineda stole the murder weapon from the personal car of a San Francisco police officer.

Thursday night, the 9th Circuit Appellate Court struck another blow to Trump's second, scaled down travel order. The latest, in this unnecessarily long and drawn out saga, is the 9th Circuit's opinion allowing just about every family member of foreign nationals receiving visitor benefits exemption from the president's travel order which took aim at countries known to be state sponsors of terror (Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen).

Later this morning, Attorney General Jeff Sessions is expected to make a statement announcing the winding down of the long-controversial DACA program (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) affecting so-called DREAMers (live stream below), children who were brought to the United States by their parents and who entered the country without obtaining legal status benefit from DACA. Since the program's creation in 2012, DACA has never provided legal status, but has issued legal work authorization and the promise of deferred removal action. Neither is DACA law -- it's a DHS policy created by the Obama Administration, one widely considered well beyond the bounds of presidential authority.

With less than a month until the German elections, Chancellor Angela Merkel defended her Open Borders Policy for illegal migrants on German television over the weekend. "German Chancellor Angela Merkel defended her controversial decision to admit over a million refugees in 2015, and insisted she had no regrets, saying she would take the big decisions 'the same way again,'" British newspaper Daily Express wrote. She also placed the blame ironically on the border restrictions already in place -- prior to the autumn of 2015 -- to check the unregulated inflow of the refugees into Europe. "She criticized the so-called 'Dublin Regulation' on refugees, which requires those seeking asylum to register in the first EU state they enter," German public broadcaster Deutsche Welle reported. Merkel's arbitrary suspension of the Dublin Regulation, in fact, started the migrant influx from the Middle East and North African countries that continues to this day.

Following last week's terrorist attacks in Europe, Poland has reiterated its position not to take anymore Muslim migrants into the country. “We are convinced, looking at the recent attacks that where a large number of poorly integrated Muslims live, it is [also] a natural base for terrorism,” said Pawel Soloch, the head of Poland’s National Security Bureau (BBN).

The UK might “face an Islamist terrorist threat for the next 30 years,” warns country’s former spy chief. According to Jonathan Evans, who resigned as Director General of MI5 four years ago, threat of Jihad to the country was a “generational problem” and won’t be going away anytime soon. "I think that we are going to be facing 20, 30 years of terrorist threats," Evans told BBC. Britain has been rocked by four Jihadi terror attacks this year. The worst of which took place at the London Bridge in the beginning of June, where three Islamic terrorists drove a van into passers-by and subsequently went into a stabbing spree, killing 8 and injuring 48 others. Most of these assailants come from Britain’s vast migrant Muslim population.

Despite Europe's politicians and the mainstream media continuing to downplay the migrant inflow that overwhelms the continent, the situation on the ground continues to deteriorate by the day. On Wednesday, beachgoers on a southern Spanish beach watched in horror as dozens of migrants stormed the shore, abandoned their boat, and fled into the countryside.

Migrants who have either just arrived in America or been here for awhile have started to venture into Canada in record numbers by using the back roads to take advantage of loopholes in Canada's immigration system. The Associated Press reported:
Under the 2002 Safe Country Agreement between the United States and Canada, migrants seeking asylum must apply to the first country they arrive in. If they were to go to a legal port of entry, they would be returned to the United States and told to apply there. But, in a quirk in the application of the law, if migrants arrive in Canada at a location other than a port of entry, such as Roxham Road, they are allowed to request refugee status there.

The Merkel government is apparently covering up the extent of the ongoing migrant influx ahead of the country's general elections, a leaked police document published in German newspapers suggests. According to the document, Germany’s Federal Police, the agency responsible for immigration and border controls, is observing “high number of immigrants” entering illegally into Germany along the country's southern border with Austria. The Federal Police is urging the government to reinstate border controls to stem the flow of illegal migrants into the country, the document reveals.

Sergio Jose Martinez, a 31-year-old illegal alien, has a criminal record and has been deported 20 times.  Portland, Oregon, however, prides itself on its "sanctuary city" policy, and Martinez was released into Portland despite a 2016 ICE detainer. Martinez then broke into a 65-year-old woman's home, brutally raped and assaulted her, and stole her vehicle.  Before being caught by police, he allegedly assaulted another woman. KGW reports:
A man accused of breaking into a 65-year-old woman's home, sexually assaulting her and stealing her car was arrested after allegedly assaulting another woman and running from police. Sergio Jose Martinez, 31, was caught July 24 after officers chased him through a neighborhood.
