A federal judge has just dismissed the federal government's claim that U.S. law overrules two of California's "Sanctuary State" laws.
U.S. District Judge John A. Mendez approved California's motion to throw out the lawsuit related to two of those measures: Senate Bill 54, the sanctuary state law, and Assembly Bill 103, which allows the state attorney general to inspect detention facilities.

Riots erupted in the French city of Nantes following the death of a 22-year-old man, who was shot after running over a police officer at a vehicle stop. Cars and buildings--including a local court--were set on fire in the city's Breil district, an area with "largely immigrant populations," media report say.

Abolishing ICE is codeword for open borders. And Open Borders is where Democrats have been moving for a generation. Now that slow creep is a full out sprint. While it's been percolating, New York Socialist Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who defeated the No. 4 Democrat in the House in a primary earlier this week, set the movement afire.

Houston's Mayor Sylvester Turner held a press conference with local community leaders Monday to push back against plans to use a former warehouse located just outside of downtown Houston as an immigrant child holding facility. Turner, "said he is in no rush to issue city permits at the site, and called on the state not to issue a childcare license to the 54,000-square-foot facility," reports the Houston Chronicle.

President Donald Trump has attacked German Chancellor Angela Merkel's open borders policy, tweeting that "the people of Germany are turning against their leadership as migration is rocking the already tenuous Berlin coalition." President Trump's comments come at a time when Chancellor Merkel faces a bitter power struggle within her Christian conservative alliance—with her Catholic Bavarian ally, the CSU party, threatening to abandon the government over immigration.
