The attacks on 9/11 separated the real heroes from the fake heroes.

The Fake hero who comforted the grieving and raised a nation’s spirits:

The Fake hero who kept a city together:

The Real Hero who walked barefoot over broken windows:

It seems almost in bad taste to talk about dollars...

G.O.P. vs. Obama: Disrespect or Just Politics?

That is the deeply probing question asked by The NY Times with regard to G.O.P. opposition to Obama.

There was no such question when it came to Democratic treatment of George W. Bush, it was pure disrespect.

Please dig deep into the history books and show me...

All this talk about Rick Perry being too much like Dubya has infiltrated the brain of the person who tweets for The Hill.

Rick Perry hasn’t formally announced that he is running for President, but this interview with Mark Halperin of Time (the guy who famously dropped the “D” bomb on Obama) makes pretty clear Perry is running and that rumors of a rift between Bush and Perry are overstated if not outright untrue...

George Bush’s supposed walk-away from the hunt for bin Laden has been all over the news, in the blogosphere, and even in the comments here.

Everyone points to this video, six months after 9/11.

I have pointed out that the video is overstated, because at the time Bush was not trying to raise...

The relentless banter by the mainstream media and others (including by some in the comments here) is that Bush let bin Laden get away at Tora Bora and gave up the search.

As the facts come out in the wake of bin Laden’s death, bits and pieces are coming out that...

A person who knows the facts, versus an agenda-driven hack so-called journalist who has all the talking points on the tip of his tongue.

The person with the facts wins.

Gets particularly interesting around th 8:00 mark, for those of you who have work to do and can’t watch the whole thing:

Like I said:

“Obama and his supporters, who opposed the secret intelligence operations and interrogations as illegal, now are reaping the political benefits of those operations and interrogations.”

Put into poster format, via Jim Geraghty:

“VINDICATION: When the loudest critic of your policies achieves his greatest success because of them.”

Gallup is out with a poll taken yesterday on the issue of who deserves credit for finding and killing Osama bin Laden.

The results are very telling.  Understandably, the U.S. military gets the most credit (89% Great Deal, 9% Moderate Amount), followed by the CIA (62/26).

Obama has been criticized for his egocentric speech Sunday...

It will be interesting to see how this plays out, via AP:

Officials say CIA interrogators in secret overseas prisons developed the first strands of information that ultimately led to the killing of Osama bin Laden.

Current and former U.S. officials say that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001...

So reports Jake Tapper of ABC.

Apparently bin Laden’s compound was identified positively in March, and the military wanted to drop a dozen or so guided bombs and reduce the compound to ashes.

According to Tapper, Obama passed on the request because there would have been...

Barack Obama’s speech at the White House correspondents’ dinner last night was small and petty.  Watch it below, and compare it to similar appearances by George Bush.

No end game? No problem, now.
