The latest polls show British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has increased his lead over Labour Party rival Jeremy Corbyn. "Boris Johnson’s Tories have established their biggest lead over Labour for two years," the British newspaper The Telegraph reported. With less than three weeks to go until the December 12 election, the Conservative party is "on course for 80 seat majority" in the 650-seat Lower House, the newspaper predicted citing a "monthly poll of polls."

Prime Minister Boris Johnson-led British Conservatives have doubled their lead over the opposition Labour party days after Nigel Farage pulled hundreds of Brexit Party candidates ahead of the December 12 election. The ruling Conservative party now has the support of around 45 percent of the vote, with the left-wing Labour trailing with 28 percent, the latest YouGov poll for the UK's  Sunday Times shows.

In a massive boost to Prime Minister Boris Johnson-led British Conservatives, Nigel Farage has pulled hundreds of Brexit Party candidates ahead of the December 12 election. The Brexit Party will not field candidates in all 317 seats that the ruling Conservative party won in the last general election. "The Brexit party will not contest the 317 seats the Conservatives won at the last election," Farage said. "We will concentrate our total effort into all the seats that are held by the Labour party, who have completely broken their manifesto pledge in 2017 to respect the result of the referendum, and we will also take on the rest of the remainer parties. We will stand up and fight them all."

Two of my good friends have children who are asthmatic. In fact, one of them nearly lost her daughter, who had a dreadful asthmatic attack due to inhaling post-wildfire particulates.  The child would have died without her inhaler. However, green justice warriors have decided that the luxury of being able to breathe pales in comparison to saving the planet from minuscule amounts of greenhouse gases.

The UK Conservative party's lead is narrowing in polls as Remain parties enter an election pact to defeat Prime Minister Johnson and prevent Brexit ahead of the December 12 general election. The pro-EU Liberal Democrats and the Green party are targeting specific constituencies to maximize their chances of entering the parliament. The so-called 'Remain Alliance' is targeting "dozens of seats across the UK in an all-out bid to block Boris Johnson and Brexit," the Daily Mail reported Sunday.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson suffered a major setback on Saturday as the country's parliament voted to delay the Brexit ahead of the October 31 deadline. Lawmakers voted by 322 to 306 in favor of an amendment that obliges the British government to request an extension from Brussels .

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has laid out his final offer to the European Union ahead of the October 31 Brexit deadline. If Brussels fails to accept the proposal, the UK will leave the EU without a deal, Johnson warned. The UK will be "coming out of the EU on October 31," he said. The proposal will "honor the referendum," Johnson told parliament on Thursday. He described his five-point offer as a set of "constructive and reasonable proposals, which provide a compromise for both sides."

The British Supreme Court has ruled Prime Minister Boris Johnson's decision to suspend the country's parliament for five weeks "unlawful, void and of no effect." The verdict paves the way for the UK House of Commons to reconvene tomorrow. Johnson, who was in New York for a United Nations summit at the time of the court ruling, promised to respect the top court's decision but "strongly disagreed" with it. He also reiterated his commitment to take his country out of the EU by the end of the next month.

I'm so old I remember when "knife control" was a joke and not a thing that was under serious consideration. Church of England leaders in the Diocese of Rochester have joined forces with "leading crime experts, as well as MPs, and community leaders," in a letter asking the government to consider banning pointed kitchen knives.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has told the country's Supreme Court to stay out of "political arena." The top judges will soon hear evidence on whether he acted lawfully by suspending the parliament until October 14. Johnson "warned Britain's most senior judges not to intervene in his decision to suspend Parliament," UK's Daily Mail reported. The suspension of parliament is an "inherently and fundamentally political" matter and is not something for the judiciary to decide, the government's lawyer Sir James Eadie argued before the UK Supreme Court.
