The Afghanistan withdrawal was a disaster, but it may also have been the gush of water that broke the dam for Joe Biden and his party. Biden's job approval is in free fall, and that is bad news for Democrats in 2022. Republicans were already favored to take back the House, but the Senate is more in play with each passing day.

A new poll from Rasmussen finds that most voters believe Joe Biden has basically checked out and that his job is being done by his aides. Of course, lots of people have believed this for months. If you simply watch Biden try to speak without a script, it's nearly impossible not to reach this conclusion.

Biden's withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan has been a disaster, in both a humanitarian and political sense. Americans are watching horrific images coming out of Kabul on their TVs, computers and phones, while Biden seems frozen, unable to respond in any meaningful way. While we still don't know what the plan is for the humanitarian side of the crisis, we do know how the Biden team is planning to deal with the political fallout.

What happened the last 72 hours in Afghanistan is a stain on this country that will not wash away anytime soon. It's Joe Biden's stain....
