2020 Presidential Election Tag

If you thought the Mueller Report would cause Democrats to move on from trying to impeach Trump, you were severely mistaken. The Democrat Impeachment Train merely switched tracks. The first track, consuming two-and-one-half years, was Russia collusion. The Mueller report did derail that impeachment track, by finding no conspiracy with or coordination between the Trump campaign and the Russians. In short, Mueller found no collusion, a non-legal term that comports to conspiracy or coordination.

Former Florida governor and failed 2016 Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush told CNN's David Axelrod, a former Obama adviser, that a Republican should challenge President Trump for the 2020 GOP nomination for president.

Jeb's reasoning, apparently, is that only by running a GOP challenge to the sitting and duly-elected president can the GOP have a "conversation about what it is to be a conservative."

Former VP Joe Biden hasn't announced yet whether or not he'll jump in as a 2020 presidential candidate, but a growing number of voices are giving him some unsolicited advice: Don't. About a month ago, we learned via the McClatchy news outlet about over two dozen Democratic strategists whose opinions on a possible Biden run weren't exactly glowing. "Not his time" was a common theme among those interviewed.

Michael Bloomberg released a statement Tuesday saying he would not be throwing his hat into the 2020 candidacy ring, but he is launching a new environmental campaign -- Beyond Carbon, which he hopes will result in the shuttering of all coal-fired plants over the next 11 years and the eventual eradication of fossil fuels as an energy source.

The 2020 election campaign season is kicking into high gear, and a number of Democratic party hopefuls are jumping onto the reparations train. But it's one they may find could derail their aspirations for higher office.

Republicans aren't the only ones concerned about Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez's complete ignorance of basic economics, or the fact that she's taking her horrible ideas mainstream. AOC fought against Amazon's bid to build a headquarters in New York City, prompting Amazon to back out of the potential deal. Had the deal gone through, Amazon would've brought roughly 25,000 new jobs to the community, not to mention the other immeasurable economic benefits. Worse still, AOC celebrated Amazon's decision to look elsewhere. Amazon and other New York City politicians were not kind in their criticism of Ocasio-Cortez.

Former Massachusetts Governor and Libertarian vice presidential candidate Bill Weld has formed an exploratory committee for a 2020 presidential bid to challenge President Donald Trump in 2020. From Fox News:
“I think there definitely is a path to victory, but you want to test the market a bit. I look forward to talking to a variety of people. You want to make sure the motion doesn’t fail for lack of a second but it won’t,” Weld said Thursday evening in an interview with the New Hampshire Union Leader. “Everyone I have talked to says you are running as an R, count me in.”
