Warren Calls for Trump Impeachment in Latest Desperate Gambit to Salvage Stalled Campaign

Warren Calls for Trump Impeachment in Latest Desperate Gambit to Salvage Stalled Campaign

How wise is it to pressure House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on something she’s too smart to do?

Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) just can’t figure out how to get her stalled 2020 presidential campaign off the ground.  She’s struggling to raise money, is polling (a distant) third . . . in Massachusetts, and she’s become increasingly desperate for any attention at all.

Indeed, as Professor Jacobson noted, Warren’s increasingly dramatic proposals reflect a campaign struggling to stay relevant.

Here is a partial catalog of Warren’s increasingly dramatic proposals just in the past three weeks:

‘Full-blown Conversation about Reparations’ for Blacks and Native Americans

Eliminate the Electoral College

$700 Billion Free Childcare Plan

Expand Government Oversight of Credit Reporting Bureaus

Break Up Big Tech

Break Up Big Corporate Agricultural Businesses including Seed Companies

Jail Executives for Negligence if Company has a Fraud Scandal

Jail Executives for Negligence if Company has  a Consumer Data Breach

End the Senate Filibuster

These proposals have kept Warren in the short-term news cycles without any obvious positive impact on her popularity or fundraising. Warren is approaching the point where even the sympathetic liberal and mainstream media will grow weary.

Her latest attempt to garner attention, and she hopes the rabid support of the rabid leftist anti-Trump base, is to call for the House to begin impeachment proceedings.  Proceedings, it should be noted, that she knows will go nowhere, even if House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) were inclined to pursue them (and she is not).

Given that a recent poll by Emerson University shows “More than one in four Bernie Sanders supporters would vote for Trump over Elizabeth Warren,” it’s not surprising that she is going for that base in the hopes that Bernie burns out before she does (he won’t).

On Saturday, Warren doubled-down on this pandering impeachment scam.

CBS News reports:

Warren expanded on her views on impeachment at a campaign event in Keene, New Hampshire, on Saturday.

“If Donald Trump can do all that he tried to do to impede an investigation into his own wrongdoing and an attack by a foreign government, then it gives license to the next president, and the next president, and the next president to do the same thing,” Warren told reporters after the event. She said that she had not been in contact with any other Democrats about her decision.

“For me this is not about politics. There are some decisions that are bigger than politics,” she said.

The reaction on Twitter has been swift (and often hilarious).

Last month, Pelosi weighed in on the left’s impeachment fervor with some level-headness.

In an exclusive interview with The Washington Post, Pelosi announced that she was about to “give you some news right now because I haven’t said this to any press person before.”

She went on to say:

Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path, because it divides the country. And he’s just not worth it.

Needless to say, nothing in the Mueller report meets this standard of being “so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan,” and Warren’s mischaracterization of the report’s contents does nothing to change that.

It’s not often that I feel for Pelosi, but she’s got her hands full this year with “like five” renegade freshman Congresswomen wreaking havoc on the Democratic party and now with Warren flouting her on impeachment.

Pelosi cannot be happy, and if Pelosi is not happy, Warren’s chances of winning the nomination just shrunk to somewhere near zero.

How about her incarceration for fraud.

There’s no bottom to this woman’s sliminess.

Or, Warren wants to overturn a valid American election. Some may call it treason.

All these progressive fascist politicians calling for the impeachment of Trump had no complaints about Obama’s numerous violations of the constitution. They just don’t like Trump so they think that’ justifies his impeachment. Hypocrites!

“Last month, Pelosi weighed in on the left’s impeachment fervor with some level-headness.”

In other words, president Trump is untouchable unless the media can live up to its end of the bargain and drive Trump’s approval down below 45%.

Pretty much. The number Pelosi is (and others are) watching is his approval with the GOP base, and right now, at least, it’s at record highs (far higher than Obama’s with his base at this point in either his first or second term). As long as that holds, Trump is untouchable, and the Mueller report doesn’t move the bar among that voting bloc (unless you count strengthening his support among those voters).

This is why Warren’s move is so confounding. She knows that Pelosi’s House won’t move on this, and she has to know (at least on some level) that she will never outlast Bernie, so what on earth is she thinking? “Gee, today’s a good day to piss off Nancy! What fun! I’ll just lob some reddish meat-product out there that the House should begin impeachment proceedings, fool the base of TDS-addled loons, and let the chips fall where they may.” Ugh.

“This is why Warren’s move is so confounding…”

Fauxcahontas is a desperate slimebag, looking for a Hail Mary pass. She must be getting her inspiration from hillary clinton.

Is it possible she believes that the ability to say “I was the first candidate on this stage to call for the House to impeach this President” in the first debate will win her favor with the lunatic fringe of the party?

She is basing this move on knowing how poorly informed her base is, and how the DNC propaganda machine – AKA the MSM – is in total support of continuing this attempted coup against the duly elected President.

She is like Hillary asking why she isn’t polling higher part deux.

Her narcissistic tendency has her flummoxed as to why she remains low in her polling. She cannot see that most people know her to be a fraud. She isn’t likeable, she isn’t cuddly like the creepy old uncles Biden and Bernie, though she has more appeal than Hillary ever had.

She thinks she is smart, and believes that impeachment will endear her to the Mad Max idiots out there. The Mueller report should never have been released in full, as her pea sized brains only looks at it from her limited world view. She truly believes everyone who has a brain cell agrees with her.

She should just go video her drinking another beer out of a bottle while she has some other racist symbol hanging out in her home.

So one has to ask: What is Fauxcahontas planting in those “heads full of mush” at Harvard law? This has to be degrading the value of a law degree from that place. Or are they all similarly deranged so she doesn’t stand out as the fool she really is?

    New MSNBC-NY Times poll:

    Trump’s approval rating is 12%.

Now if she promotes a bill to jail congressman and senators for negligence if their files or emails get hacked and found to contain confidential or top secret government information, i might not fight to get her kicked out of MA.

No, i still would want to see her leave this reservation, and go back to Oklahoma

If the House does impeach Trump (they have to, or the Democrats’ genocidal base will replace many of them in 2020) Warren can probably count on Mitt Romneycare’s vote in the Senate to remove.

From the remote safety of the Senate, lecturing Pelosi doesn’t do Looney Liz the same damage it would were she in the House and vulnerable to the Speaker’s wrath. So this is an easy way to seem relatively avant-garde without actually doing anything.

I kind of like a few of her ideas, with modifications. These, for instance.
Jail Executives for Negligence if Company has a Consumer Data Breach
Jail Executives for Negligence if Company has a Fraud Scandal

Fine, but that must include the US Gov. agency head of any Dept. that had it computers breached and one Senator for every US Gov. data breach.
The same goes for any agency in which fraud has been committed.

Expand Government Oversight of Credit Reporting Bureaus
Ok but let’s demand an independent audit of all Gov. agencies and the entire Fed. Gov. and all future liabilities must be determined and clearly stated.
For all entitlement programs, they must demonstrate that money has been set aside and invested to meet future payouts–without printing money.
Break Up Big Tech

Break Up Big Corporate Agricultural Businesses including Seed Companies

OK- if we break up Big Gov and return the majority of functions to the states.
I could work on her others but this should be enough to give her a heart attack.

Shrieking Crow plenty mad the whole world thinks she is just another crazy flake.

Stipulated Fate | April 21, 2019 at 7:43 am

God forbid anyone on the left actually delve into reality and see fact over emotion.

She really is quite stupid, isn’t she?

This looks like a winning strategy to her? Jump on the bandwagon that just lost an axel? And better flog the dead horses, might still be some movement in those.

Here’s something I would find useful. Let’s pass a law that says you can start campaigning for President ONLY in the same year that an election will take place. Then I won’t have to listen to these morons and their stupid ideas for two years.

Chief Flaming Dumpster is still searching for relevance.
