Mary is the resident libertarian. She covers stories in every vertical, but her favorite thing to do is take on the media. She saw its bias against the right when she was a socialist.

Mary loves the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Blackhawks, tennis, cats, Oxford comma, Diet Coke, and needlework.

Axios ran an article this morning about how the Democratic black women running for Congress "feel slighted by Democrats." 43 black women have decided to run for seats in the chambers, but only Lauren Underwood has received "backing of the national campaign organization." The Democrat Party praises itself for being the progressive party and often props up black causes and people. DIVERSITY! Is this a case of actions speak louder than words? Maybe the Democrats are just like the GOP and care more about winning than sex and race as they've led many to believe.

Embattled Republican Missouri Governor Eric Greitens has resigned due to scandals over an affair and campaign finances. From the AP:
Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens has resigned amid criminal and legislative investigations stemming from an extramarital affair and campaign finance questions. The 44-year-old Rhodes Scholar and ex-Navy SEAL made the announcement Tuesday. The resignation takes effect Friday.

It's on. It's off. It's on again? That's basically been the status of the summit between the U.S. and North Korea this past week. It looks like North Korea wants the summit to happen since dictator Kim Jong Un has sent an ex-spy chief to America to help revive the summit.

I honestly have no idea where to even start with this whole thing. A bar in Portland, OR, hosted a Reparations Happy Hour where "blacks, brown and indigenous people" received $10 from white people who. The event excluded white people.

Ken Vogel at The New York Times has revealed that #NeverTrump Republicans and Democrat operatives have sided with each other as a way to "neutralize" President Donald Trump. Vogel wrote:
In the past year, however, influential liberal donors and operatives have gone from cheering these so-called Never Trump Republicans to quietly working with — and even funding — them. Through invitation-only emails and private, off-the-record meetings, they have formed a loose network of cross-partisan alliances aimed at helping neutralize President Trump, and preventing others from capitalizing on weaknesses in the political system that they say he has exploited.

Scandal-ridden Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) has taken a tumble in polls, which means his re-election isn't such a sure thing. Menendez only has a four point lead over his Republican challenger Bob Hugin, a former pharmaceutical executive.

On July 17, 2014, Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 crashed into sunflower fields located in eastern Ukraine. Everyone reasonably pointed fingers at Russia since the two countries had been (and still are) fighting in that region of the former Soviet republic. A Dutch-led team of investigators announced today that the missile that downed the flight and killed all 298 people aboard came from a Russian brigade.

The Hill has reported that the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees will interview three witnesses in June over the FBI's handling of the investigation into Hillary Clinton's email probe. They will interview "Bill Priestap, the assistant director of the FBI’s counterintelligence division, and Michael Steinbach, the former head of the FBI’s national security division," along with "John Giacalone, who preceded Steinbach as the bureau's top national security official and oversaw the first seven months of the Clinton probe."

President Donald Trump has called off the summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un. From The Hill:
“Please let this letter serve to represent that the Singapore summit, for the good of both parties, but to the detriment of the world, will not take place,” Trump wrote in a letter to Kim.

Prompted by the actions of former quarterback Colin Kaepernick who, in the name of social justice, began taking a knee during the national anthem, the NFL released a new league policy for players during the national anthem. The league will allow players to remain in the locker room during the national anthem, but if a player chooses to appear on the field during the anthem, they're required to stand for the song's duration.

President Donald Trump promised big changes to Dodd-Frank shortly after his inauguration. He may have the opportunity to do just that this week. In a rare instance of bipartisanship, the House passed a bill that will rollback portions of the financial law for smaller banks.

Five years ago today, in broad daylight, two Islamist extremists slaughtered British soldier Lee Rigby with a machete as the young father walked to his barracks in Woolwich. Rigby's child was only four days old.

Reports indicate that failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will endorse New York Governor Andrew Cuomo instead of his primary opponent Cynthia Nixon. Let me repeat myself: Hillary Clinton (the female who bashed females for not voting for her) will endorse Andrew Cuomo instead of his female primary opponent Cynthia Nixon.
