Kemberlee Kaye is the Senior Contributing Editor of Legal Insurrection, where she has worked since 2014 and is the Director of Operations and Editorial Development for the Legal Insurrection Foundation. She also serves as the Managing Editor for CriticalRace.org, a research project of the Legal Insurrection Foundation.

She has a background working in immigration law, and as a grassroots organizer, digital media strategist, campaign lackey, and muckraker. A new poll by Gallup illustrates how public opinion on issues like Obamacare and immigration have changed since the midterm elections. One in 5 American surveyed now say that the federal government is the biggest problem with the country and were more likely to cite the government as problematic than any other issue. Even more interesting, guns sunk to the bottom of the list.

This is a live thread. Refresh for latest developments. Former Trump National Security Advisor Michael Flynn's sentencing hearing ended early this afternoon. Judge Sullivan repeatedly asked Flynn if he'd like to postpone sentencing, an offer he declined several times. Sentencing was recessed until 12:30 to give attorneys an opportunity to discuss postponement, an offer which they accepted.

California has jumped ahead in the primary line. Usually holding their primary in June, months after Iowa's kickoff in February, California's Democrat primary will be held on March 3, 2020, allowing the state to have a greater influence in the primary game, reports the Wall Street Journal.

The influx of blue state refugees fleeing to Texas has many concerned that the reliably red Lone Star State might be purpling. Apple's announcement of an upcoming Austin campus only added fuel to the worry fire. According to the latest data from the U.S. Census Bureau, Texas grew by 1,000 people per day this last year. Massive growth, even if half were babies.

Erik Scott's murder and subsequent cover-up are an unbelievably horrifying story and one you probably haven't heard. Scott was murdered in a Costco parking lot by Las Vegas Metro cops. Scott's senseless murder and surrounding events are blood boiling. It's an unfortunate example of government corruption, of the perversion of the justice system that has afflicted far too many locals, and of bureaucrats who will do whatever is necessary to cover and conceal the deplorable acts of their employees.

The sentencing memo released by the attorneys representing Trump's former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn called to question the conduct of the FBI agents involved in the initial interviews with Flynn. Flynn was charged with lying to the FBI. Wednesday night U.S. District Judge Emmet G. A sentencing memo released Tuesday night has thrown a kink in the investigation of Trump's former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. In the memo issued by Flynn's attorneys are allegations that the FBI intentionally lied to Flynn about the necessity of having representation during their initial interview as well as an alleged effort to intentionally omit the consequences of lying to FBI agents during what was allegedly made out to be a casual conversation.

Beto O'Rourke is scoping out a presidential run. According to Buzzfeed, his recon included a call to Al Sharpton to schedule a meeting. A Sharpton spokeswoman confirmed to Buzzfeed that "they spoke and agreed to meet within the next couple of weeks and they had a great conversation."
