Kemberlee Kaye is the Senior Contributing Editor of Legal Insurrection, where she has worked since 2014 and is the Director of Operations and Editorial Development for the Legal Insurrection Foundation. She has a background working in immigration law, and as a grassroots organizer, digital media strategist, campaign lackey, and muckraker. Over the years Kemberlee has worked with FreedomWorks, Americans for Prosperity, James O'Keefe's Project Veritas, and US Senate re-election campaigns, among others.

D.C. Democrats are discussing Debbie Wasserman Shultz's fate as DNC Chairwoman. The Hill reported Tuesday that Wasserman Schultz may be fired as DNC Chair before the national convention in July.
Democrats backing likely presidential nominee Hillary Clinton worry Wasserman Schultz has become too divisive a figure to unify the party in 2016, which they say is crucial to defeating presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump in November.

Over the years I've chatted with many a woman who was ardently pro-abortion until 1) they became pregnant or 2) they learned what actually happens during an abortion procedure. Pro-life group, Live Action, is utilizing the latter scenario -- showing pro-choicers how babies are ripped to pieces during an abortion. Dr. Anthony Levatino, a former abortionist, explains what happens during the most common type of second trimester abortion (13-24 weeks of pregnancy), dilation and evacuation (D&E). Live Action stopped men and women on the street to show them Dr. Levatino's account (he has a great story of his own), and not one of them left as resolutely pro-abortion as they were before seeing the video. Many changed their minds completely.

Virginia's Democratic Governor Terry McAuliffe is in a bit of hot water. Monday, CNN was the first to report McAuliffe was under the FBI and Justice Department microscope. At the center of the investigation -- whether certain donations to his election campaign were extra-legal. McAuliffe served as a board member for former President Clinton's Clinton Global Initiative. His time there is also part of the federal investigation.

Surely the progressive ideological utopia across the pond is more lenient when it comes to the convenient disposal of unborn human life, right? RIGHT?! Not quite. Though they constantly bemoan laws that make abortion-on-demand more difficult, the progressive abortion paradise is actually in the United States, where laws are significantly less stringent than those of most Western European countries. What's the key to viral video-making? An appreciation for the small things in life, a talking Chewbacca mask, and an infectious belly laugh. Or it was in Candace Payne's case. After buying a talking Star Wars mask at Kohl's as a belated birthday present to herself Thursday, Candace Payne sat in her car, flipped on her phone, and recorded what would be the single most watched Facebook Live video in the history of Facebook Live videos. More than 130 million people watched Payne's video which was posted with the caption, "it's the simple joys in life." The previous Facebook Live record holder was Buzzfeed's watermelon smashing video, which had about 10 million views. If you haven't seen her video, it's four minutes of your time well spent:

While Americans squabble over which bathroom stall to use, a block of fifty-one Muslim countries blocked eleven gay and transgendered groups from attending an upcoming AIDS meeting at the United Nations, scheduled for June. Western countries are not happy.

Sir Nicholas Winton rescued 669 mostly Jewish children from Czechoslovakia in 1939. Not a soldier, not a government official, Winton petitioned the British government for permission to organize "Kindertransport." For fifty years, Winton kept his Kindertransport activities to himself. It wasn't until his wife discovered a scrapbook that his story was made public in 1988. It wasn't until the details of his rescue missions were unearthed that the children he saved learned who saved them and how. More than 7,000 people credit their lives to Winton's efforts. Winton passed away last year at the age of 106. Thursday, hundreds attended a memorial service to commemorate Winton's incredible bravery and selflessness.

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump, released a short-list of potential SCOTUS nominees Wednesday. Senate Republicans have thus far, made good on their promise to block President Obama's nomination of Judge Merrick Garland. Should that hold, the task of replacing the late Justice Scalia will fall to the next Oval Office occupant. According to ABC News, Trump's SCOTUS list includes:

Jeffrey Epstein is a name you may be familiar with, or you may not, but if media rumors are true, expect to hear about him much more in the coming weeks. Epstein is a good pal of President Bill Clinton's. Epstein is also a registered sex offender who got himself into trouble soliciting and procuring the services of underaged girls.

Vegans. We all know at least one. We've all been stuck listening as they chirp from their morally superior perch about the evils of carnivorous living. Yes, there exist vegans who aren't the most annoying people we know, but those are few and far between. So, what would life be like if all of us steak eaters acted about our filet mignons how vegans act about their organic, free-range kale?

Andy Stanley has a message for the forty-five and older crowd -- stop scaring the children. Why? Youngsters take cues from older generations. If all they hear is doom and gloom, there's a pretty good chance they're going to buy into the Apocalypse is nigh! hogwash. "Many of you have grown weary and you've lost heart, and the reason is, you have fixed your eyes on a political system, you have fixed your eyes on a political leader, you have fixed your eyes on the good 'ol days, you've fixed your eyes on the economy and you are growing weary and you need to knock it off!" said Stanley. "And I'll tell you why -- because you are scaring the children."

Late last night, I blogged about a NYT report that the Education and Justice Departments were issuing a bathroom edict to all government-funded schools. As the NYT pointed out, the letter is not legally binding and has, "no force of law," but is a threat no less. Without force of law, the only threat remaining is federal money (which should make for a fun 10th amendment fight). So the ED and DOJ trotted out Title IX to preach about discrimination. But it's not a threat. Public schools will lose federal funding for noncompliance, but it's not a threat though: Potty Decree highlights (or lowlights):

Because the issue isn't contentious enough, Obama Administration Officials will issue a directive to public school districts nationwide, instructing them to allow students to use the restroom of their choosing.
